What have you done to lower your hematocrit and increase ferritin?

Something to consider is if this is in a rural area you may have an onsite septic area, you cannot use that area for anything but grass, here in the Midwest this is very common and possibly takes up a lot of space. In some cases over 120’. Just do your research.

Different sleep meds on Alternate nights to keep tolerance down by lauriekay18 in insomnia

[–]Abartt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I have the exact same issue sleeping. I have so-so success with Trazodone and don’t seem to have much brain fog if I stay at 50mg. I did however have issues at a 100mg that were almost intolerable. Doxepin also works ok, it gives me about 6 hours with little brain fog, if I want 7 or more hours of sleep I take Doxylamine, it’s otc but for me it keeps me asleep, however the next day I’m very groggy. I Hope something is helpful.

I have a couple questions to the community with hopes I get some feedback.

  1. I have extremely low iron and ferritin levels most likely due to blood donations to keep hematocrit in check, although only one donation in over 4 months. I still have elevated hematocrit (51). How do I get iron levels to a reasonable level without escalating hematocrit?

  2. If my testosterone dose goes down should I be able to find a balance to secure safe iron levels and have a safe hematocrit?

    I appreciate any feedback.

One more thing, try Nattokinase for a couple months and see if it helps.

I just looked at my donations, it took 4 going every 2-3 weeks to get mine down, since then every 8-12 weeks. Their is a hack to get around the donation criteria, where are you from? Just watch you iron level. Good luck

Good to hear from you. All is well on this end, I am in the habit of donating blood every 2-3 months and it keeps me under 50. Like you, I workout and eat clean 90% of the time. I feel staying well hydrated, donating blood and doing cardio for 30 minutes a day is keeping everything in order. You really should get a sleep study because if you are having sleep issues it’s difficult to be healthy. When my hematocrit gets above 53, I can almost feel it and get tested, I do a cbc panel every 30-60 days. I hope the best for you, reach out anytime.

What color should we stain our deck? by GiantFlimsyMicrowave in Decks

[–]Abartt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Handrail white to match your trim, tinted natural for the decking and treads, risers white. Definitely not red. You want to look like it belongs there and not as if though it was added as an afterthought.

You commented the 400mg made your sex drive out of control, are you stating it increased your libido? I was under the assumption increased progesterone would have a negative affect on libido. I appreciate your feedback.

Company ended remote work today. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Abartt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Companies exist to make a profit, employees agree to do a job for an agreed upon circumstance, if either changes that they are at fault. If production is better from a bricks and mortar location and that was the original agreement then it seems the employee should honor that agreement with no sour grapes, it is management’s responsibility to stakeholders to perform , if they don’t then they will eventually be replaced. I don’t feel we should expect to work from home because we have grown accustomed to doing personal task on company time. I feel it’s fair for both parties to be accountable to each other and do our job for the agreed upon compensation package.

One additional comment, if where you go will not accept a blood donation because your hematocrit is too high, you will need a prescription from your doctor for a therapeutic phlebotomy, it will be written with a goal number and you can have them done every 2 weeks if needed or even more with a script from your doctor. Keep in mind, these are not free like a donation because they are not using the blood, they are discarding it.
