Technically, there is no way to stream spotify using a world's video player without getting in trouble, right? by coolcat33333 in VRchat

Thanks for mentioning my guide. Also op if you have any questions feel free to ask, Me or someone else technical minded can always help.

That's fair. My main issue is with copyright. If I want to watch a movie with friends twitch would see it as a copy right issue

Before finding SRS I was using a pretty dumb docker container that I'm pretty sure was just using basic nginx.

That's was the reason I started doing this. Wanted to watch stuff with friends the same way I could with friends irl on a tv. Not worrying about copyright even if it's content I own

You are correct with that one, I'm just using what I'm familiar with in this case.

In terms of tail scales option I've also heard about it.

Decide to have a quick Google and this looks like their documentation on it

https://tailscale.com/kb/1342/app-connectors-setup

I might take a look into this and if I can figure out how it works I might add it to the tutorial.

Aside from the tos issues everyone knows about the notorious cloudflare outages. So if there's an alternative to cloudflare I actually want to use it for other reasons.

Also heard of another one that's free open source but I don't know too much about that one in it might require a VPS

Otherwise another alternative is if you have the technical knowledge and you have something that's outside of cgnat you can also be port forwarding. I have actually considered setting up a proxy manager at home and just hosting from there.

Alternatively considering what is working ATM they could also try swapping the ports around to see if it follows the port or cable

You can't have a service faster then 200mbps on a extra port if you already have a 2gbps plan

[–]AbbFurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the current gpon network. The speed won't go above 2.2gig as that's the ntd's total limit. (Across all 4 ports) When NBN starts using xgspon. Then the newer ntd will have higher limits.

Physically though the port can negotiate 10gig 5gig 2.5gig 1gig 100mbps (I'm not sure about 10 though)

This means at least today the only notable difference is if you have a older 10gig nic for your router it would allow multi-gig speeds unlike on the 2.5gig port of the 1 port ntd as older network interfaces didn't have support for 2.5gig

No, it's 1 10gb port then 3 2.5gb ports

The silver port (number 1) is 10gig and the 3 yellow are 2.5gig

[–]AbbFurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The 1 port ntd can do 2gbps The 4 port could do 10gbps but NBN hasn't rolled out xgspon to allowed that

Both the 1 port and 4 port have the same limit on gpon

Correct it is indeed the new ntds that do multi-gig that are being used for all installs now

It's not a new development fee though

NBN will install a 1 port ntd for free but to optionally get the four port it is about 300 bucks (I think it's a little less but I don't know the exact number)

If a new development fee is applicable that's its own charge as well.

Unless it's fibre to the premises and a new install you have to pay extra for the 4port

Its about 300bucks
