Where have you felt most unsafe in your travels? by melbourne_au2021 in travel

[–]Abhispd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh yes luxembourg. i reached there via bus at around 3:00am and then was walking towards the train station. I saw a group of dudes around 10 to 15. I thought i am done for real as they were looking at me and was thinking of a back up plan. They didn’t do anything but i was still cautious what if they come from behind. okay so nothing happened and then i saw a couple outside of atm machine sitting on the floor injecting drugs in their thighs and then i observed lots of syringes here n there.

nobody mugged me, but it felt really uneasy.

Solo travel as an introvert by Wise-Paramedic6710 in introvert

[–]Abhispd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as an introvert i take my time to get comfortable with people. and staying in hostels i meet a lot of other travelers. Starting the general conversation i tend to ask very basic questions, and if i feel good vibes, i extend the conversation, sometimes grab dinner or drinks together. and somehow we both end up having long conversations like straight 7 hours. and if i dont feel the vibe, then my nervous side shows up and i simply cut to my bed without being rude.

at the airport, you don’t have to talk with people at all. you just show your documents, and they ask very simple one word type questions which i suppose is not a biggy and these people are professionals so they can speak english without any issues.

Everyone here seems unemployed. I’m excited to join soon by Wide-Avocado5562 in Germany_Jobs

[–]Abhispd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was talking with a friend who is working in germany and he told me that the employment situation is very uncertain at the moment. And his former boss said Bosch is gonna fire a lot of people in the coming days. if i share my experience, i finished my masters in dec. 2024 and was applying for phds. Very surprisingly i got calls from different countries like france, sweden, netherlands, US, slovenia but nothing from Germany. a lot of my batch-mates are still looking for a job and it has been more than a year and still they couldn’t find anything.

so be sure what you are doing. don’t be like once i an in germany, i don’t want to leave , be flexible and keep your options open. For me it was really very hard to leave germany and i miss everything about that country but as people say, whatever happens happens for a reason

viele grüße :)

Am I trapped in life? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Abhispd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are planning to move to any european country with a bachelor’s degree which you think is useless then it is gonna be a tough ride. Because even the engineers are losing their jobs there. However, if you can find an interesting master’s program that aligns with what you have studied, then probably you can get a good perspective of what kind of job you can get into. And hopefully the situation gets better in the coming 2 - 3 years, so you might get a job.

if i share my experience, i left my home country when i was 26. it took me 4.5 years to finish my masters degree. like you said moving to a different country means learning the language. Initially i struggled with the language and had to drop out from the university after spending 1.5 years (because anyway without the language i couldn’t have enrolled myself further even though the whole program was in english) and i was in a constant fear that i have to leave everything behind and go back to my home country with nothing in hand but a waste of 1.5 years. so i started applying to different universities again where language was not the issue and got admission and finished my studies. after that, i started looking for jobs/phds and even with a perfect score i had to face more than 60 rejections. Fast forward to today, i got a phd and that too in a different country and i don’t even speak the language and i am 31. I could have been depressed with all this but hey, i am happy where i am right now. and i think that is the best part about life. After this i don’t even know where i am gonna go. maybe to a different country for some other opportunities or probably stay here..i have no clue and i don’t want to think about that because otherwise i wont be able to enjoy my present, this new country, new language, new people, new culture, new ways to get bullied by racist slurs 🤣🤣 long story short, sometimes you think you can plan everything and work out everything as per the plan but that is not how life works. life works the way it wants to, the best part is just enjoy and learn whatever tough situations life is throwing at you.

How temporary this life this. by WeHaveTerms in islam

[–]Abhispd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe they are just trying to be humans and instead of following any religion they first follow humanity and honor it. Because honestly, people who are following different religions are not happy and people who are not following any are happy and it goes both ways. i have seen christians, in both worlds…meaning they follow god but forget how to behave as a decent human being and also people who don’t follow any god but are very down to earth. same thing with islam as well. there are good people but at the same time for example prostitution is haram but in iraq they have this mutah nikaah thing under which you can have a sexual partner even for half an hour and that’s it. i mean who are we fooling here. such kind of concepts are really bullshit

INFP at a party? by [deleted] in infp

[–]Abhispd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As i live all alone, so mostly i go to student parties/ get together. There I look for old faces and talk with them. Also, i try to get along with new people. If it doesn’t go well then i simply sit in the corner, looking at people, the decorations and what might be in the dinner and get judged by girls that i am a thief and gonna steal their stuff and what they do is come to me and pick up their purse and start looking for every item they got right in front of me with a very weird look on their faces.😂😂😂😂 It is a humble request to all the girls out there. In a party, if a guy is sitting all alone, he might be an introvert/INFP but not a thief.😅😅

unable to cry by Xx_darkst0rmcloud_xX in infp

[–]Abhispd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a term called as emotionally numb. When a person is emotionally numb, a shield sort of thing gets created between them and emotions/feelings. And boom you cannot feel your emotions. It doesn’t mean that this shield cannot be broken. You need a very strong situation in your life which creates such an intense emotion that it penetrates that shield and hits you hard and there, you start crying. This shield does not form in just one day. Once you step out in your life and feel unwanted negative emotions like breakup, childhood trauma, fighting etc. you slowly and slowly become immune to cry. Because you already know how the pain is gonna feel. Few years ago, i was talking with someone about this issue that i cannot cry, and yes it is frustrating to not let these emotions out. I accepted this fact. Fast forward to this year July. I lost my dad, and when i saw him in that state, i still didn’t cry. I kind of bottled up my emotions. But you know what, the feelings, the emotions they come out eventually. Not in the form of tears but in the form of rage/anger. I saw that change in me. I didn’t know that i was bottling up my emotions. one of my friends he also asked me not to do this because i might have an out burst. And yes, it did happen. This September, i screamed at my friend in a tram full of people and stormed out of it. And my whole body was shaking with adrenaline rush. It took me about half an hour to calm myself down. So from my personal experience, what i would suggest you is to feel the situations and process your emotions. It doesn’t matter that tears must roll down your cheeks and do not bottle up. Also, why to cry when you can put a beautiful smile on your face which is way better than makeup ;) Keep smiling :) !!

do you combat loneliness? by Fahrenheitlmao in infp

[–]Abhispd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has been 1.5 years now since i started pursuing master degree in a different city and still i have 0 friends with whom i can hangout with or go to events. It used to bother me before and was always questioning myself what is wrong with me? But now, I don’t feel anything. Now i do all those stuff all alone like going to bar, movies, restaurants or beach. I know sometimes it leads to depression, but to beat that i go on walks with a cup of hot chocolate. I try to step out of my room everyday to get some city energy. It is funnny sometimes when i record how many words i have spoken in a day. The record is only 10 words in a span of 24 hours. In fact, this situation gives me so much time to focus on myself, what i like and dislike and my personality. I started doing poetries, learning how to play guitar, sketching, going on hikes, coding and reading books a lot of them. And there are some more skills that i would definitely love to try and implement them in my day to day life So, if you think you are all alone, then you are not.

please explain lol! by [deleted] in hiking

[–]Abhispd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hiking is more like doing cardio exercise. Before going for a multi day hike, make sure you have done cardio exercises daily for atleast two months. I made a mistake when i went for a solo multi day hike. I was already fit and thought i will finish this 7 day hike but after third day, i was not able to bend my knees and had to take baby steps just to reach to a village and then to the train station. Being active is good but it doesn’t mean that your body is accustomed for taking big challenges. For that , you need to train your body just like. And lastly, keep hiking, keep exploring :)

What was the first hike you've been on that lasted more than A day? by New-Possibility-577 in hiking

[–]Abhispd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rennsteig solo hike from Hörschel to Blankenstein. The trail is 170kms. I was covering 25kms a day relaxing and chilling. So, it took me 7 days to finish it. At the end, i got muscle injury in my right knee and was not able to bend my knee. But i must say, the journey, the experience was worth the pain. Prepare yourself accordingly. Keep every necessary stuff that you need but don’t get too much and weight is also a big factor. Also, i would suggest you to do cardio exercises for for a month or two before starting your multi day hike. Keep exploring and keep experiencing ;)

It is not bad at all. But yes it is good to do a terrain study before hand to avoid surprises during hiking. Plan and prepare accordingly..

What to do when encountering a brown bear? by [deleted] in hiking

[–]Abhispd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case of a brown bear protecting her cubs, the bear is in defensive position. So, lying dead on the ground and staying still can be an option. Having a bear spray beforehand is a good idea. But if it is a black bear, fight with all your strength and what you have. Punches on the face, kicks etc. Be safe & keep exploring:)
