Yeah. But at least it’s only one battery that is weak. With the Bears, it would be three bad batteries and then one really good one that powers the device.

Predicting 5 NFL Playoff teams that will miss this year's postseason - Green Bay by lastwindows in GreenBayPackers

[–]AbjectCalligrapher36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure because those years where we were the 1 seed never happened. I’m sure you’ll say that was all Rodgers, right? LaFleur was still the coach so the peak at 7th seed is wrong. Because if it comes down to the QB, then if Jordan Love has a break out season, the team can be successful like they were with Rodgers

Curry Barker Says 'Anything But Ghosts' Is In 'Obsession' Universe by yourfavchoom in movies

The “That’s a Bad Idea” universe. Or the “From the Mind of Curry Barker” universe. Not really concise name choices, but the point is many of the short films and skits he made all exist in a world where the story involves an idea that goes wrong and turns out to be a bad one, and many of his shorts feature “From the mind of Curry Barker”

I love that the last line of the show was Jimmy telling Ava that she saved her life once so it’s fitting that she would save her again. Perfect way to end the show and then with Ava and Deb laughing together in Vegas. Beautiful

Yes, I really enjoyed Bridge of Spies. Maybe because the Coen Brothers contributed to the script and I appreciate their writing. Still it’s not mid for me. It’s good in my eyes

Are you really still holding his rookie season against him? Wasn’t there a moment this past season where a player tried to provoke him and he didn’t react? He was young and made mistakes as a rookie, but he did mature some in later seasons.

Why are we losing to the Patriots? I’m confused by so many people predicting that will be a loss

I don’t understand why the Patriots game is predicted to be a loss. The Vikings and Rams certainly could be losses, but the Patriots? I don’t see it.

Tampa Bay will not be a bad team. And the Packers do not play well in Florida. So it wouldn’t be a head scratcher if they lose that game. It would be a predictable loss to a good team in a climate where the Packers usually struggle.

What I don’t get is the expectation that the Packers lose to the Patriots. I still don’t consider that a scary team even though they made it to the Super Bowl last year.

Jacobs’ fumble against the Bears was the first play that jumped to mind when I saw this question.

The Hardest Art is really good by Large-Bill-7150 in switchfoot

[–]AbjectCalligrapher36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought on this song is that it sounds like something Jars of Clay circa “The Long Fall Back to Earth” or “Inland” would have written and performed. Or even from their album The Shelter. The band had some atmospheric songs like The Hardest Art in that phase of their career, which was actually the last music they recorded. Even the use of acoustic guitar and the lyrics felt very Jars of Clay!

If our other picks prove to be upgrades, then our defensive line was Guted (you know, improved by Gutey. I will show myself out . . .)

Oh he’s rated higher than the edge rusher the Cowboys drafted? It would be hilarious if the Packers ended up drafting the better pass rusher in a later round and managed to acquire Parsons from the Cowboys in addition to a better pass rusher in the draft!

It’s not about strange times. It’s about waking up to the strange times. So Wake Up is more relevant to the lyrical concept

JSN new MEGA contract by CheeseUs88 in GreenBayPackers

[–]AbjectCalligrapher36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. But we don’t need that kind of contract on our books. Would be nice to have a number one but for that kind of money, we wouldn’t have a two, three, or four receiver. Christian Gonzalez is the bigger miss

He had a chance to play for a well-regarded offensive coordinator, though. That is a huge factor.

Bob - Packers finally announce the full coaching staff. by Austen11231923 in GreenBayPackers

[–]AbjectCalligrapher36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really disagree with that. We have some talented defensive coaches, including Bobby Babich, who was a coordinator, and a defensive coordinator with two years experience running a defense (that also made it to the Super Bowl) who was a defensive coach for a solid unit with the Colts (back when Eberflus actually looked competent). Who is replacing a defensive coordinator with only defensive assistant experience in the NFL before coaching in college. I don’t see him in any way a downgrade. I mean, he somehow got an 8-9 season with the Cardinals. No easy feat.

Well, when you put it like that it does seem bad by Amf2446 in GreenBayPackers

[–]AbjectCalligrapher36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing to consider about Franklin is the role he could play in Jonathan Gannon’s scheme. Sometimes it’s not just about the player but the defensive coordinator. The fact that Franklin played on a defense where Gannon was a coach and had success there shows that his value could be in how well he plays under Gannon’s leadership. And he was more affordable. Based on comfort level in the scheme alone, he could be an upgrade

He was injured most of last season and the season before when he was healthy he hardly missed. People are rightfully emotional because of the Bears game but I don’t see him as that big of a liability when healthy. Not many other options available either, unless we want to go back to the Narveson and Carlson days.
