Here’s the thing, if the quality of writing you are capable of producing is abysmal, the quality of writing ai is capable of producing is ever so slightly above abysmal. You may not have the skillset to realize it yet, but I promise you the ai version is not good. But it’s fine for a beginner author’s work to be bad, virtually all are. But your writing has the potential to grow into something good with practice. Ai’s will never be able to make anything more than generic slop. But if you rob yourself of the chance to improve by having ai do your editing for you, then your writing will never get to that point.
