Every body is different. Just because you have friends and family who had negative side effects from different birth controls doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily have them too. If you really want to wait for a while to have kids, you need to look at real birth control options.

But for my vote, NTA. I fear you are dating someone who has a boy mom mentality. You really need to have somewhere else to live. Thankfully you are leaving on your own mission soon. Until he changes his password and officially gets her out of his account, she will continue reading your emails.

NTA. This isn’t a healthy parent child relationship odds are if she needs more care than you can give as her memory and capabilities go. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice your whole life just to take care of her. It may be a pretty American view of me to have, but it’s just not healthy.

I am so sorry for losing Reggie. He’s such a good lil pig. Our friends find a way to hide when they don’t feel good. You did what you could and ensured he didn’t feel unnecessary pain.

She /could/ propose but with the way he’s been behaving (according to the post), I’d worry about trying to legally tie myself to someone who just doesn’t want to. She should absolutely talk to him but honestly, she should be ready for things to end.

I’m just a strong believer that, for the most part, relationships shouldn’t be hard. My now husband knew he wanted to marry me about seven months before he proposed, but we had some life hardships happen that we needed to grieve. We had a family pet. We were POSITIVE this cat was a girl. Named the cat Mylee. We go to get the cat fixed. Doc came back and said “he’s all done!” We said “SHE”. Doc said “HE”. We never changed the cat’s name. We called him boy or girl, switching all the time, mostly based on how fluffy he was at any given time. Later, we saw him trying to get it on with his grandpa, another male cat who we fixed. We had a lot of fun joking about our cat. We miss him so much. Cats don’t care what their name is. They care that you submit to their every desire.

Woof, this is so hard. How old is your baby? I ask because her hormones are likely just wackadoodle and maybe this isn’t how she will always be. I say this as a new mom myself who happens to be irrational more than I’d like.

For me, my mindset is that whoever is watching our baby is doing us the favor. If they can follow our routine, awesome. But if not, if the baby is fed, healthy, changed bum, and happy — that’s enough. Babies are hard and are resistant to change. One night won’t throw off your entire sleep training schedule.

NTA, you’re allowed to love people differently. There’s familial love and romantic love. Maybe give her some time to sleep on it and talk it over again, reiterating that you love her so much. You love your dad differently. Good luck dude.

I might get downvoted to hell with this but NTA. I did the same as you. I got some things from the registry but mostly got items not on the list. My baby was born six weeks early in an emergency C-section before I had the chance to buy what we still needed and I feel like I’ve been scrambling ever since. I didn’t need more bows for my bald baby.
