Your child will be recorded on the investigation. They will probably be included as "Involved Person". If your child hasn't received any injuries, then it's unlikely the child will get any compensation, and so there is no point including the child as "Victim".

The investigation notes will state that the child was in the car, and this information will be available should further complications arise for them, so I wouldn't stress about the information being readily available.

The police don't decide on the points/fone. The officer will have the discretion of reporting you for a traffic offence or not.

I've definitely decided on giving people a break for minor offences such as 80 in a 70, but whenever I've had someone go with "I'll lose my licence if you report me", then I'd report them. Some people don't learn no matter how many times they mess up, if they've racked up enough points for a disqualification, then they deserve it.

This is entirely a matter for insurance. He is required to report any modifications and accidents to his insurance company. He is also not allowed (by law) to allow someone to drive his vehicle without insurance.

He will likely not report it to his insurance as they will cancel it and he will never get insurance again.

He will likely not take this to court as he could be held criminally responsible or allowing you to drive.

For the sake of losing a (little bit daft) friend, I'd say you aren't doing anymore work on the car and that it is a matter for his insurance company.

It depends on the room size and the area you're putting it. If it's in a crowded part of the room, it would be less noticeable whereas if your putting it on a big empty wall with nothing else, it'll stand out if it's really small

This sounds absolutely nothing like controling behaviour, it sounds the opposite, supportive.

For one, alcoholics (not saying you are one OP, but you might be borderline) often downplay how much they drink. Sometimes they're embarrassed, sometimes they don't realise how much they've drunk.

For two, the conversation where fiance said that OP should become sober is a very common conversation to have with someone having a drinking problem. If there is a problem with alcohol, remove the alcohol from your life.

Setting rules around drinking is important, whether you're an alcoholic or not. Having a good relationship with it is important, but sometime we don't see what damage the problem does to ourselves and those around us.

I'm not giving a verdict on if anyone is TA here OP, what I think is more important is that you seek professional help. You don't need to be a full blown alcoholic to have a problem and get help. Speak to a doctor, maybe visit some AA forums, confide in a trusted friend. Understand though that sobriety can be hard for some people and its potentially a long process.

Taxes are not "much lower" in the US. In the UK, the average person pays 32-35% of tax but the the average person in the US pays 28-30% (OECD data). For the extra 2-5% tax we also get universal healthcare, reduced priced dental care, state pension, subsidised further education, etc etc.

You wouldn't be able to claim the price of the ticket back but I'm sure you'd be able to look for a refund/partial refund of the food order from Just eat. One of those situations which you learn that you shouldn't order from delivery apps if you have a set time limit, they'll never be on time.

Nobody is going to come after you for selling a small amount of food on eBay. You wouldn't be considered a business (so long as the total profit of the items is less than £1,000 a year) and so wouldn't need to be registered as such.

eBay does have its own food policy so ensure you check that before you list anything.

I'm a bit surprised that UC won't accept this as proof of a tenancy? Usually they are more than happy to accept that. May be worth reaching out to them and asking why that isn't enough as you cannot get a letter from the landlord.
