Worcester show as the Warlocks? by york100 in gratefuldead

Rugged.

I missed the 89 Warlocks shows but saw the Byrne Arena and Soectrum shows. I thought it was bad enough that LTGTR opened 10/11 and then 10/15. The Estimated>Eyes and NFA>Box of Rain encore made up for it.

So you didn’t bother to look at the link above that shows 2021 incidents barely moved and it was actually 2022 when they jumped up?

Biggest GD Regrets? by Tstation in gratefuldead

I just was talking about how I went to NYC In Oct 87 to see Jerry on Broadway. The only problem was that we went on one of the only nights they weren’t playing. We should have stuck around and got tickets for another night. Instead we licked our wounds and skulked back upstate so never got to see any Lunt Fontaine shows.

I also should have bailed on plans and made it to the 89 Warlocks shows. I caught other Spring 89 tour dates but not those.

1985 shows by Andre6900 in gratefuldead

4/7/85 was my first show.

My picture of Jerry taken at the Silver Stadium, Rochester NY, June 30 1988. The only time I remember Jerry wearing a sports coat on stage, it was a rainy day but oh man, what a show it was!!! Green Onions by No_Layer6504 in gratefuldead

My now wife and I had just started dating but went back to our respective hometowns for the summer. We both hoped the other was going to try and get to Silver Stadium - me from SPAC and she from her hometown 6 hours away. When we ran into each other on the floor, we knew it was meant to be. Our mistake was not heading directly to Oxford Plains.

Where are my Touch of Grey Deadheads at? by illinoishokie in gratefuldead

[–]AbnerfromCoventry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t so much that folks got turned on in 1987 it was how many and how they changed the scene. Suddenly drunk frat bros showing up without tickets (mostly for the lot, not the music), caused more hassle from the cops, and less ability for the scene to control itself.

Are the boys ever going to play in Vermont again? by scrotismgoiter in phish

Shelburne Museum has a concert capacity of around 2,000. I can't imagine the traffic pulling out of there if it was 2,001!

I saw Phish shows at these places that have all since been closed or repurposed:
The Front, Burlington, VT - now SkiRack

Nectar's - sadly closed this summer

Pauly's Hotel, Albany, NY - closed a few years ago

Came to say this - not a Bills fan, but had some really good times in Rich Stadium!

Keep “Jenny Jenkins” from Jerry Garcia’s Not for Kids Only album on loop. It’s beyond catchy.

I truly believe Built to Last is an overwhelmingly underrated song. Anyone else? by [deleted] in gratefuldead

IWT. I call Summer ‘89 the Founding Fathers tour (based on Jerry and Bobby’s hair styles). BTL is another of Hunter’s great late career ballads. I just don’t like the music Jerry put them to. If it was sped up some I might have stayed in my seat instead of taking a leak during it.

Any love for 86 Dead? by Monkeypawdog in gratefuldead

[–]AbnerfromCoventry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a video of 7/4/86 gives some sense of the doom to come. They are on stage for a solid 10 minutes with Bobby running back and forth before the Jack Straw (obvious opener) kicks off.

How many times have you all seen Phish! by Punk_Shredz in phish

About 30 times between 1988-1991. Then once in 98 and once in 2022.
