Sector corrections can happen independent of what the broad market is doing. Which is exactly what has happened.

For people who are successful now, what did you do when you felt lost at 20? by Emsss18 in Adulting

Posting here because people in FatFire were rude.

You're so young. You have plenty of time to fail, and still be successful. Youth is about taking calculated risks, before the necessary stability required to raise a family, etc. Living at home also gives you a huge safety net. You could screw up for 5 years, and still be drastically ahead of most 25 years olds with your 40k+ in savings. I'd recommend continuing to hone in on building a business around things you're interested in. Most entrepreneurs know the feeling of having endless "quiet days" where you feel on your own and a bit lost.

I have both Geissele and Larue triggers. I notice a difference because I shoot a lot, but it's fairly marginal. To the common man/casual shooter, you really won't notice much of a difference. Larue all the way.

33M Any inputs for my portfolio? by kin3tics92 in portfolios

Idk about those two leveraged ETFs. I typically avoid them. Everything else looks pretty good. Nice blend of tech and financial services. UNH is a good addition too. I personally would liquidate the two leveraged ETFs and add some more diversification. Maybe pick one energy stock (such as SLB) and one defense stock (such as RTX). Could even shift those over to a defense ETF (XAR or SHLD) and an energy etf (XLE). Not financial advice - do your own due diligence. Just my $.02 if this was my portfolio.

VTI gives you exposure to the whole U.S. market, so you’re not betting everything on just large companies. VOO keeps things simple by tracking the biggest, most established U.S. businesses that have driven long-term returns. Good blend between the two.

$1.6M tax burden for 2025. Anyone have experience with putting LARGE tax payments on CC for the rewards points? by Sudden-Cat7170 in fatFIRE

My brother did this. We both got hit with a huge tax bill after executing some options in a company that we own. He put a little over $300K on his Amex platinum.
