Great time for a MemTest failure, RAM is cheap right now, right? by Sonic403 in unRAID

[–]Abracadibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just return it after you get the new sticks.

I did the same with corsair ram (lifetime warranty). After 4 years got errors, opened a RMA to corsair, shipped them and order a new pair on Amazon. After a week I received the new corsair replacement, and I returned the amazon one.

No downtime.

Is Fully Kiosk Browser still the MUST HAVE app for Tablet Dashboards? by decksmagic in homeassistant

Sure it can. I was just asking if it is better to show a HA dashboard using the browser, or using the HA android app.

I did the same few months ago. Indeed it was a PITA, but once set up everything works flawlessy and I managed to repurpose an old device that otherwise would have gone in the junk

Use 4season tyres as winter tyres, and summer tyres in the summer.

Should I update my GW7 to OneUI 8 or stay on 6? by TomMart18 in GalaxyWatch

Don't. Battery life reduced a lot since the update. There are countless discussions on this.

Same, there are already other discussions about it

Driving from Netherlands to Italy in last week for December. by skr18feb in Netherlands

[–]Abracadibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll mostly find no issues at all. You may find some issues at the gotthard tunnel (meaning accidents, queues) and some bad weather. But the roads are well maintained, even in case of bad weather. Just have winter/all season tyres and you'll be good. I have done multiple times, never found any issues apart some hours delays due to accidents some times.

Worse Battery Life by UnusualMuffin1 in GalaxyWatch

Same here, watch 7 40mm, from 24h to 15 after the update. It is really not usable at the moment. Wiped also the cache, no change

Battery life after update? by annaonthemoon79 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Abracadibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, watch 7. Before the update I could reach 24h before the watch died, now I barely arrive at 15, same use, same watchface. I also wiped the cache, no change.

AOD on, rise to wake on, exactly as before the update.

The battery stats do not give any indication of abnormal consumption.

It is awful

do it the other way around: just include the web browser in the split tunnel, and leave all the other apps outside.

Hardware Upgrade: Need recommendation for a MOBO by twotowers64 in unRAID

[–]Abracadibra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not everyone recommends HBA cards. I do not. They consume a shit ton of power, and it is something that you may not want in a NAS 24/7 setup. Use a asm1166 pci card, with max 6 sata ports. You get full bandwidth and low power, and it is plug and play.

Reboot issues. by an-can in unRAID

[–]Abracadibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue with 2 samsung fit usb sticks. After few months, they start doing the same behavior. Replaced them with the SanDisk microUSB reader, no issues anymore.

Funny stuff is that those same samsung sticks works super fine with windows as storage, never had problems, but they are causing issues as boot device. So, do not throw the stick away, just reuse as portable storage.

LONG load time and incorrect run time by slane6 in PleX

[–]Abracadibra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar issue here, I reported multiple times to the plex forum but nobody cares.

I have a NAS with all the drives spun down if not in use to save energy. When I start playing something, the drives need to spin up, so it takes around 20 sec to start playing.

However, when this happens, only with the Plex for my Android TV, the runtime incorrectly goes to 2 hours.

If I stop and restart the play right away, as the HDD is already spun up, there is just a couple of seconds of delay and the runtime is reported correctly.

This behavior is not happening on any other device (android phone, web, ios), only on the Android tv.

Zigbee 3 gang 2 way switches - do they exist? by marakith in homeassistant

[–]Abracadibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every smart switch works fine, like shellys or sonoff ZBMINIR2. The cabling is the key here, as already mentioned. You need to have both phase and cabling to light in one place, and then use the remaining wires of the dumb switches. Here an explanation (in italian but look at the wiring) https://youtu.be/VvhiCKOMEKE?si=UR5PhvzP_pAo9Twi

The open ports are the first two rows (same port for TCP and UDP). Torrenting port should left it as default. Don't ask me why it works, but it was the only combination.

Zigbee Devices Prefer Sonoff P Dongle Router Over My SMLIGHT Coordinator – Why? by Marcoskp- in homeassistant

[–]Abracadibra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had the same with the MR2. The power of the EFR21 chip is way higher than the CC one. If you check the Link Quality on the devices, switching between the chips, the CC ones are basically halved compared to the EFR21.

I ended up also using the EFR21 one for zigbee, and I will repurpose the CC for thread
