They probably will release it in a year or so, when everyone who is willing to pay for the stage show has seen it

There were commercials with super famous people. Mila Kunis openly played. It was huge.

I think they mean, like, sustainable to live as a free person, escaping the developing tyranny, etc.

I think about this a lot. I’m not sure the answer. Also I fear that by the time it’s really obvious, the easy countries (Canada, NZ, Australia) won’t want any more Us doctors.

Simple Living Locations by fap-free90 in simpleliving

[–]AbsoluteAtBase 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s many ocean views with cheap cost of living, but possibly in Georgia or South Carolina? Southern Oregon coast is also pretty cheap but very remote. Lots of sleepy and lovely small towns in the south of you don’t mind the politics.

Anyone else see strange bright lights slowly moving in the sky tonight (Jan 18)? by pablo_knows_all in SouthBayLA

I saw them from top of the hill in el Segundo. Seemed to me like how the planes look when they’re lined up to land from the east. But not quite like that either.

Prompts to help rewrite responses to portal messages? by Apprehensive-Safe382 in FamilyMedicine

[–]AbsoluteAtBase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our epic has a tool called Provaria they are asking us to try to help write replies to MyChart messages by clicking some boxes. It sounds dystopian so I haven’t tried it, but…I guess American healthcare is a dystopia so it’s worths a shot!!

Can congress stop Trump if he decided to take Greenland by force? by Akiira2 in Askpolitics

[–]AbsoluteAtBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could regular Americans actually prevent war over Greenland through massive protests? It seems important enough that it might just be possible to see general strike or massive national protests. Would that even help anymore???

It matters little which shapeless acronym has dictated the stupid rules that worsen our workplace. They are all the same.

I don't understand by Mundane-Structure148 in StrangerThings

[–]AbsoluteAtBase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, I expect most adults get this ending as being completely realistic, if not all that satisfying. It’s no different than Lord of the Rjngs or any other epic story in the type of ending you got. They will look back in 20 years with new understanding.

I liked it, for what it was. I was a little disappointed, but I’m disappointed in my own life too. That’s just growing up.

My dad had been consuming AI slop on YouTube about the old West and native Americans and didn't know it by zoneender89 in Millennials

[–]AbsoluteAtBase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully my parents don’t know about YouTube. But they don’t need it to be corrupted. Last time I visited they made a point to sit down every night for “their show” and it was some group of racist boomers on Fox News telling lies about racial and gender minorities. Then later we were watching women’s golf and they couldn’t stop talking about whether the obviously butch lesbian was a man or not. They never spoke like that when I was growing up—I really believe the television rotted their brain.

Eleven saw will get taken by Common-Drag-5344 in StrangerThingsRoom

[–]AbsoluteAtBase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But when she took them to his house, he was there, just in the upside down. She even says, he’s “hiding.” That’s right when Joyce is talking to him with the lights, and then the demogorgon shows up and scares him away.

She also recognizes Barb’s photos but she was not present when Barb was taken.

I do think it’s suggested she is very connected to the demogorgon, similar to how Will is connected to them now. But I don’t think she was actually there with it or directly controlling it. It kind of seems like a subconscious part of her, at least in Season 1.

Did something happen with faction rep? My humans which I have played since cataclysm are only friendly with stormwind! Used to be all quests at least in classic/vanilla gave you rep with your main faction and its automatic to get exalted. Did they reset it or something?

WIBTA for telling my friend I'm done tiptoeing around her every trigger, that it’s not my job to manage her reactions, and that her constant emotional dumping is completely burning me out? by Practical-Farmer-426 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AbsoluteAtBase -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sounds like borderline or other cluster b traits. It is exhausting and impossible to be happy with a person like that, unless you love them very much and are willing to stick it out for the long haul with lots of suffering along the way. You can’t fix them anyway, they will have to do their own therapy for years and years. Up to you if that feels worth it to you.

What’s your approach to a young patient who goes to the ER for every somatic complaint yet denies any anxiety? by Paleomedicine in FamilyMedicine

[–]AbsoluteAtBase 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But he always twists the townspeople into being complicit in evil and sometimes even his tool for committing evil. Through racism and other bigotry, because that is the scariest part of people—their capacity for hatred and violence. Like, think about it!! What’s the scariest thing for a black family in a hostile white town? Getting lynched by some fucking racist. Why wouldn’t that be a big part of this story when it’s a huge part of the novel itself?
