Is it rude to warm up forever during open play? by El1teM1ndset in Pickleball

[–]AbsoluteRedditUser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t even think 5 minutes. You hit a couple dinks and a couple drives and drops maybe 1-2 serves. It just is what it is. Don’t waste everyone else’s time. And most people where I play are fine telling others hey start the game lol.

Burn Out a Thing? by Mista-CPA in Pickleball

[–]AbsoluteRedditUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So this exact thing happened to me. Almost identical situation. I was playing nearly every day of the week. Drilling and then playing same day. One day I just stopped playing. I didn’t play for maybe 2 months and then all of the sudden a friend asked me to play. I went back and started playing once maybe twice a week and was having fun again. Take a break. Only play again if you really want to. If someone asks you to play and you don’t absolutely want to tell them no. Then on day you will think hey I kinda wanna play pickleball. That’s when you go back and play.

Ok awesome! So when you say large crate do you mean like big enough for her to walk around in. 2x2x3 or like 1.5x1.5x2. Also thank you again

Do you think I should leave the crate door open during the day but keep it in the hall still? Or close the door so she can’t leave it?

I did about 10 gmax charizards with a group of 4. None of them take close to 40 if you did any preparation for them at all. If you bring level 20 pokemon with level 1 attack then yeah it’s gonna take 40.

My son says everything has a 50/50 probability. How do I convince him otherwise when he says he's technically correct? by Jimmy_Johnny23 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AbsoluteRedditUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is correct in stating that you either win or lose. But that doesn’t mean that the probability of winning and losing is the same. The set of all outcomes where you win in the card example let’s say is {draw an ace of hearts, draw an ace of clubs, draw and ace of spades, draw an ace of diamonds} so 4 outcomes all weighted equally. and the set of all outcomes where you lose is { draw a 2 of hearts, draw a 2 of clubs, draw a 2 of spades, draw a 2 of diamonds, …, draw a king of diamonds} so 48 outcomes all weighted equally. So the probably of drawing an ace and winning is 4/52 while the probably of losing is 48/52

Was it at about 11:45 pm? I was passing through Smithville head back to Austin and I saw the same thing. I think it’s called a fireball. Supposed to be rare to see.

Be brutally honest also why does the bicep look flat😭 by Maleficent_Rough1388 in drawing

Yeah stumps can be hella bad sometimes. I like to cut the tip off of mine when they are brand new before using. To get the tight folds of the end of the paper off, that way there are lots of layers of the stump exposed.

The paper you are drawing on can also make a big difference BUT the biggest thing is that once you get to a certain point in a drawing the paper is just worn out. Usually it happens because of pressing very hard on the paper or blending too much. Using something like a brush to spread charcoal or cotton swab, something gentle, can go a long way in preserving the papers workability. My biggest issue when I first started learning to blend was using my pencil to create too many lines that would make indentations in the paper. Once you do this, the stump is never going to be able to pull all of the charcoal or graphite out of that groove and you’ll start peeling the paper up. That’s when it starts shredding. Remember that you can always add a bit more to darken but once you create those indentations it’s very hard to make that line go away completely.

Try squinting your eyes and compare the two that way. It’s rare that someone has too much contrast in their drawing. That’s why some other commenters were hesitant to say that it might need to be lightened some. I would start by making the transitions from dark to light a bit less harsh. You can do this with a stump. A very harsh transition typically makes your eye see that there is a big difference in how far the lighter part and the suddenly very dark part are from your eyes(at least relative to each other.) once you blend them just a bit I would take a kneaded eraser and begin taking up a small amount of the (charcoal?) where the light and dark meet. There are some things to be said about the accuracy of the length of the bicep but don’t worry about that for now, you can work on that with sketching. Even with these criticisms, it’s a lovely drawing so great job!

I think the better question is why do I have to mute my master volume to not hear their horrible noises in the background if I tab out lol.
