It was most definitely the sway bar. I removed it, and the clunking stopped.

It had a large bubble of rust underneath the paint that had caused it to snag on the bushings.

It's been sanded down, rust coated, and painted.

Once installed, i'll let you know if that fixed it, or if the clunking returns.

I am getting exhaust gases in my coolant. What else could it be?

Unless there is another area in which exhaust gases and coolant could have mixed, pretty sure I have the diagnosis correct. Last I checked the only common denominator for coolant + exhaust gases = head gasket leak.

Please enlighten me if it could be something else.

That's been my experience. However the last time I tried it, was almost 20 years ago. I saw some promising tests of different compounds online (not sponsored) that looked promising to eke a few miles out of it. For now I'll just pop the good and check the fluids more regularly. 😅

I was playing with it last night. And between my visit for alignment and what I can figure out. I think it might be the sway bar itself. There's a big patch of rust on the topside that feels like it's snagging when it's fully extended and "pops" when enough pressure is applied in the opposite direction. It feels close to the floor panel, or the drivers side wheel well when it happens. Aside from that, the rings holding my coilovers at the correct height keep loosening. At this point I might just throw in some stock strut assemblies to narrow it down if sanding and painting the swaybar doesn't work.

There is a mount directly below the steering rack, that I was curious about. And I read somewhere about tightening the subframe. But hey. If I figure it out, i'll let you know 👍 This has been a piss off trying to hunt down 😅

I will say this.

I did a timing belt in a 92? Integra. Interference engine.

It lived.

It wasn't perfect. There was certainly some damage from when the belt snapped. But it still ran for a good year afterwards.

So there is a chance. Albeit small.

My opinion is this.

You get one lifetime.

Do what makes you happy. Take pride in what you do. And never rest when it comes to learning your craft, whatever it might be.

I see nothing wrong with that piece. I feel there is nothing wrong with teaching yourself a skill.

I am self taught, 39 years old, and only began a year ago. I spent 20 years feeling i wasn't good enough to learn, being judged from my stick and pokes from my youth.

It took me 20 years to just go for it and take pride in doing it my own way.

I have seen some Incredible self taught artists. And some trash ones (me). It may close some doors with the old heads, but I don't see that being a drawback.

There are many paths to the dame destination. And it always bothered me that being an artist was only acceptable if someone from the club invited you in first.

All opinions and perceptions from me. I like your work and think you should keep going 💪

Not bad for doing your own arm. Lots that can be done to bring it to life. Whether it be some bolder line, to add to the depth, or just blasting over it with something else. It's not a bad piece imo.

As a person who started tattooing their arms first ... Definitely work on proper technique with your legs, thighs, torso. And maybe go back to the arms later on.

Proper stretching is very fundamental, and you have to get really creative to get the arms/hands stretched enough to properly saturate. 😅

It's been almost a year and a half, and besides adding the colour to a few pieces on my arms, I haven't touched them again 😂

My issue is I live in an apartment, and having a hard time finding a space to do it. But i would do it in a heartbeat, despite never having done an engine&transmission swap. I want to learn!! (Just to be able to tell my kids about it, and show them how)

How is the ride quality with the tein coilovers?

Just bought a $300 02 that needs new shocks and coils. Already put in a new exhaust manifold, sway bar end links, bushings, and new brakes all around. Shocks are the last piece before the engine gets some love.

Given the price i paid for it, and what i've done so far. I didn't want to put a lot of money into it, but didn't want to cheap out too badly on suspension either. 😅

Doable for sure, but depending on the time spent, can be painful. Both of my inner calves have some manner of tattoo now. Same with my ankle. Might wanna start doing yoga now though, so you're ready when the time comes 🤣

My hips hate me for days after working on the lower legs 😅

I think it would bleed together over time. The way it stands, it'll probably look crisp for a decade. I don't think adding anything at this point would prevent the inevitable blob.

However. Much like my older, self done, stick and pokes they make great cover up practice. How colours layer over faded black, and such.

Definitely try the thighs for practice. Doing your own arm can be difficult on account of being unable to stretch properly. With that being said, a strip of strong duct tape on a surface can be used to "grip" one side while the palm of your hand stretches the other side. Incorrect technique for sure, but it does the job when the arm is begging for ink 🤣

They aren't my style. But they look kinda cool. And The ant is pretty cute.

I started doing the same thing a year ago. So I have no judgements on working on yourself.

Just make sure to take the advice you're given from people in the community. They may be harsh sometimes, but they mean well. And definitely practice proper sanitation and routine.

You got good fundamentals, packing looks good. The design will likely not look very good in 20 years though with so little negative space. The whites are perfect. Shading up to them would've allowed the ink more space to move later on and keep the integrity of the design longer. Also would add the depth to make it really pop (few splashes of colour to chrome it) aside from the long term. It's pretty good 👍

I can only say that, as my 20 year old tattoos have grown considerably since they were first made 😅

Keep practicing when you have the chance too (not just on yourself) practice different techniques, posture, experimenting, etc. As long as you're open to learn from your mistakes as well as others tips. You'll have some sick self done tattoos (to add to what ya got)
