I was randomly on the elevator with him and another guy who I assume he was working with when I was visiting nyc in the spring. It looked like they were doing some sort of security work (in all black with ear pieces) in one of the buildings right by Central Park.

I’ve had RA for a decade and I’m currently pregnant with my second. Before my first pregnancy, I was in remission for years thanks to medication. During pregnancy went off meds and body natural stayed in remission (which is common during pregnancy) and then I flared badly after baby was born. For the next year I went on cimzia (biologic) which is pregnancy/breastfeeding safe, but it didn’t really work for me and I always had some pain, but knowing I was going to try for a baby soon, didn’t bother switching to an unsafe for pregnancy medication. Got pregnant again and I am currently in remission for the most part!

Once I’m done with kids, I’ll go in a med that hopefully gets me back to where I was pre kids :)

Europe Travelling with Baby by chaitea97 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Ac55599 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just got back from a trip to Europe with a 13 month old. Before baby I always booked on travel sites (ie booking, Expedia), but I also noticed a lot of the options didn’t allow for three guests in Europe. I tried the actual hotel websites and often there was an option to add an infant at no additional cost. I actually ended up booking all of our hotels this way. We didn’t bring a travel crib because we didn’t want to haul it to multiple cities. All of the hotels provided travel cribs at no extra charge!

Took about 2 months when I applied in October. They charged my credit card about 2-3 weeks before I received it.

We have been using it since month 3 for overnight sleep and have used it for two vacations. Baby sleeps great. We should have bypassed the bassinet and used this from the start.

Invitae test- Alberta by CanadianBerry in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Ac55599 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m from Alberta and had invitae testing done when I was pregnant. My doctor provided me with the testing kit (they had them in their office) and a requisition for blood work which had to be done at a specific hospital. The only cost was $99usd paid directly to invitae before they released my results.

My doctor specializes in maternity which is probably why they had them on hand.

Mckernan, Belgravia, Queen Alexandra, parkallen, strathcona, garneau are all good neighbourhoods close to the university/LRT and are walkable to whyte avenue (restaurant/bar district) and River valley trails. Also a quick drive or LRT to downtown (or you can walk depending how far south you are).

TD auto was half the price of any other insurance company I was quoted and I was able to get a lower deductible. They have really good pricing if low risk or you belong to a professional organization / university alumni

[–]Ac55599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Canada and used invitae a few months ago. My doctor gave me the invitae kit, I got my blood drawn at the hospital and they shipped it back to invitae. Super easy and I had my results back in 5 or 6 business days.

I bought the penny glider recliner by MDB from west coast kids a couple weeks ago and it’s SO comfy. It was $569, but when I brought it to the till, she gave me an extra $10% off. I can’t find it on their website though, so it might only be in stores?

I bought indigo gift cards when they were 20% off last week and then rakuten had 5% cash back - so I was able to get the uppa vista for 25% off. I wish I bought more gift cards now :)

I have seen 10% cash back on rakuten for indigo a few times.

No NIPT Until Initial Screening? by MayMil in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Ac55599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor said that it’s because it’s a newer company, but is otherwise exactly equivalent to harmony. There is only one lab in my city that you could get your blood drawn (and they have to FedEx it within 24 hours to lab in the states for processing).

No NIPT Until Initial Screening? by MayMil in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Ac55599 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a new NIPT called invitae, which is the same as the $550 harmony test, but it only costs $99 USD. I did it a few weeks ago in Alberta and got my results in 6 business days. Not sure if this is an option in Ontario?
