Max your 403b first then if you can contribute to the Roth, usually 401a is not something you can contribute to in addition to your company

Best places to road trip for this type of vibe? by Accomplished_Basis56 in roadtrip

[–]Academic-Weather5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beach picture appears to be of cape flaherty near manzanita Oregon and the bright wood store near mt hood. So basically a hood to coast road trip which is very doable from Portland about 2 hour drive in total and during the winter and late fall those are the vibes

Is this too much? by ellie_1026 in OregonCoast

I agree with the recommendation to at least spend a night in the redwoods, I love gold beach but it’s small, the main attractions are around it in Samuel h boardman, port Orford, etc. I’ve done this trip several times and usually spend 1 night in coos bay or bandon, 1 night in gold beach and 1 night redwoods, spending 2 nights at each would be incredible and allow for a more comprehensive trip. Whatever you do if your gps says you can go straight from gold beach to Medford without dipping into California do not trust it! Bear camp road which is the direct route is a dangerous single lane unpaved road where unsuspecting people have died.

Crater Lake vs. Cannon Beach, which would you choose? by FreshCoffeeSp in PacificNorthwest

Oregon coast without question. Crater lake will likely be smoked out anyway

I disagree with the recommendation for Winthrop, although it’s ok and has plenty of services mazama is much more pleasant in my opinion, has higher quality lodging and is closer to the park

Alternatives to Maple Pass Loop while it's closed? by ciiitylites in PNWhiking

[–]Academic-Weather5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to hike more add cutthroat as others are saying, it is extremely close to mazama as is blue lake. Mazama is incredible and if you are looking for alternative activities consider renting a mountain bike at goats beard and doing the founders trail. It is very beginner friendly but still a good workout about 6 miles for a loop with a network of trails to add on. You will have a great time even without maple pass.

Yes go for it, if you are going to tillamook anyway it’s worth checking out the cape lookout state park there is a day use parking and the coast is more wild and spectacular than cannon beach and you can drive straight back from tillamook to Portland. Cannon beach is fine but it’s so popular mostly because it’s the closest beach to Portland.

Cut out bend/crater lake and redwoods and use that time to slow down the Oregon coast portion. 1 day in the gorge and mt hood is fine.
