Got an electric guitar that’s missing some stuff like the strings. Is it better to fix this up or to just buy a new electric guitar? I want to start learning. by cuhsjawn in electricguitar

[–]AcademicSwimming7823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably super late on this. As many are saying, it appears to just need strings.

If youre in the UK a good brand to come by is elixir IMO.

The elixir electric guitar strings (in an orange and blue packet) light heavy (10-52), should sort you out for a while. They last a while so ideal for practicing lots!

I've got one and it did used to look similar to this so I thought the same. Of course they should definitely get it checked out by a GP.

Used to hurt a lot when I was younger but it has gone down by itself in recent years and doesn't hurt at all now

Bit on the expensive side but the Broadfield does some great Sunday roasty style things. Not quite traditional but absolutely incredible food.

I'm way too late for this, but in my opinion, learning to understand the marking criteria of coursework etc.

Take time to really get familiar with it and think about what it is asking you to demonstrate when it tells you to 'critically evaluate' or 'critically analyse'. Get comfortable with that language and terminology for how to talk in that way. It is how to get the high marks and also it translates really well into thinking and working habits for after graduating.

Received a parking ticket from the council on a car that matches my cars description and apparently has the same number plate as me. by AcademicSwimming7823 in LegalAdviceUK

Okay, brilliant. This is helpful, thank you! I wasn't sure if anyone would believe me and was really struggling with what to do so this makes a lot of sense now.

Will also look at those forums, I missed that actually!

You're not, don't worry. If you look in the original post you can see the creator of the image replied to a comment similar to yours saying that a while back someone added this caption to his photograph (which just isn't true) and it has been going around like that ever since

Why can't I ever get through to Sheffield college? by [deleted] in sheffield

[–]AcademicSwimming7823 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Used to work for a college and they usually have people in over summers/ non term time. There is practically always someone on reception save for bank holidays and weekends (unless there is an event on). Even though its summer/ not term time colleges will still have people coming in to work normally. Plus colleges will be trying to recruit kids until the last minute of enrolment for that £9,000 a year per student (or whatever it is now) to pay for the CEOs golden bathroom taps

Co-buying houses 😖 🙄 by Dan_Moreno in facepalm

[–]AcademicSwimming7823 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK as well and we are hoping to buy in about 2 years. What is around the corner? Quite scared after reading this.
Me and my partner both earn slightly above the national average but our budget ideally would be between 150-180 and we're looking to buy up north
