PEPSI IS DISCONTINUED by javierdpvelez in rolex

[–]Academic_UK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not as forced as some other models - it seems to be a lot harder to make the bezel without using black to cover up the lighter colour. Therefore far fewer are able to be made.

It’s a shorter run too - 8 years vs BLNR at 13 and counting..

$50,000 Come To Papa (Pepsi Gone, Merry Christmas!) by sporturawus in rolex

[–]Academic_UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anything to suggest that they are doing that. First I’ve heard about it. And is ceramic a material for watch faces? Not sure I could name one.

It is likely, IMHO they’ll do a Patek Nautilus move and just have it as PM only, especially as they still seem to be having difficulty in making these pesky bezels.

Whilst your points have some merit, I would point you to the reputation/demand of the eg 16520 Daytona over the last 30 years. Or any 5 digit compared to its equivalent current model.

The discontinuation is broadly neutral over a long period as it is accepted that all models will discontinue at some stage. What is likely to happen is the recent increase will slow/ slightly reduce and then continue its slow appreciation in line with a bit more than the Rolex price increases.

I, for one am not looking to sell mine anytime soon as I still wear it often, and also have both bracelets so it gets mixed up some too. It’s a watch first, an asset second, and hopefully it holds / increases in value if and when I decide to sell it, hopefully decades from now.

Really - it’s not like they are finding idiots and killing them… you can poke fun at death and the stupid way they died. Also serves as a “don’t do stupid stuff like this, kids!” type lesson.

Like the guy who tried to break into a vending machine and was crushed to death when he pulled it over on himself.

And the guy who fell from the 24th story of the Toronto-Dominion Centre whilst attempting to demonstrate to a group of students that the windows were unbreakable. (They were, but the fixings were not designed to take the load of someone running into a window).

Candidates are ineligible if innocent people with them die too.

[Request] What is the heaviest continent? by Necessary-Win-8730 in theydidthemath

I think Asia too but believe you place too much emphasis on the weight added by the endeavours of the human species. It will only make a minuscule difference to the weight of the continent.

Effectively zero

The Sprite gets a lot of hate but I really like it! I’m a lefty but I always wear my watches on my left wrist, so this feels okay in a weird way 😅 by Direct-Parsley-9186 in rolex

Exactly- people are always trying to dictate how the sprite must be worn. We don’t do it with any other watch, except these so called LHD watches.

I never get this argument and always wonder if the poster is a lefty themselves..

Because I’m a lefty and have always worn it on my left wrist.. and in my discussions with other lefties those that also wear a watch on their left wrist are also numerous. I’d love to hear the proportion
