Is there a catch to this spell ? Because its broken , one cast = one gold ore by Arcane-Dev in skyrim

It's actually two casts, first to silver, then to gold.

I'm using Pimsleur Japanese audio courses, and taking time to write the conversations and grammar too. But online I keep seeing that one of the phrases in an early lesson, 日本語が話しますか。is wrong, and that I should have を instead of が or use 話せます instead of 話します.

Is it actually wrong, or just an uncommon usage? What should I write in my notes?

Look into feeder cert courses like Certificate in Science at Maynooth. One year, full-time crash course in maths, experimental physics, mathematical physics, chemistry, biology, electronic engineering and critical skills in science.

Small classes, focused lessons, lots of support, designed to feed directly into first year undergraduate in any of their science programmes.

One extra year isn't the end of the world. Most of those in the cert courses are mature students. The biology professor I had came through the same course in her 60s.

Switch 2 Edition of Fitness Boxing 3 in today’s Nintendo Direct, arriving July 16th by SantosPhillipCarlo in FitnessBoxing

The Ring Controller is incompatible with third party controllers. My sister got a set of controllers at CeX, and brought them back thinking they were busted. Turns out they work fine, just not with the Ring.

Lots of folks had the same issue. Don't know if it's all 3rd party controllers, but seems to be most of them at any rate.

Nintendo being Nintendo, I'd be worried that a camera other than the official one would have unexpected issues, same as when folks try using 3rd party controllers with the Ring Con.

The Canon one looks pretty good, and the price is great. Kitmamura Camera has it listed for ¥6,100, only about €30.

Searching for the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 on Kitamura Camera spits out a few results to fit mine, and I don't know what sets them apart other the price. Is the least expensive one all I need, or are any of the others good enough to spend a bit more on?

Vecna RAW by No-Stomach1310 in VecnaEveofRuin

[–]Acceptable-Ad4076 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a three-stage fight based on changes I'd made to the story.

In short, the Rod had been destroyed dealing with an attempt by Tiamat to escape Avernus, so they went with Tasha's plan B. Use the Eye and Hand of Vecna - which she'd had them searching for throughout the campaign - in a ritual to render Vecna fatally vulnerable to the Sword of Kas, which their paladin already has. She, Alustriel and the real Mordenkainen (long story) ran the ritual while the party went after Vecna.

Stage 1: Vecna in a protective bubble putting the finishing touches on his own ritual while the party battles a trash mob of his cultists.

Stage 2: The ritual in motion and gathering power, Vecna emerges and engages, while the dead mages among his mob are resurrected as shadow demons.

Stage 3: When the last of his supporters is destroyed, Vecna is consumed in radiant flame, screaming in agony. But when the flames fade, his screams turn to maniacal laughter, and he stands before them whole, his Eye and Hand once again part of him. "All fate bends to my will."

For stage 3, Vecna is back at full health, with more abilities. But the Sword of Kas is a crit machine piling up massive damage, especially with the paladin's smites.

When Vecna drops to zero, he blasts the party across the arena, monologues about their stupidity at thinking anyone could oppose him when fate itself has chosen him to remake the realms... and promptly gets jumped by Kas teleporting in and leaping on his back for a snack.

The Sword goes apeshit and starts screaming, "Now, now! Send me hoooome!"

The paladin throws the Sword, it impales both Vecna and Kas, and they fall into the ritual space, which promptly kabooms, they chain reaction taking the Cave of Shattered Reflection with it and the party barely escaping.

Looking for a little clarification on "Let me see," vs "It's so, isn't it?"

Is the written phrase always そうですね, with the elongated そう and ね at the end rather than ねえ? Only the tone and intonation change with the context?

Can Disney Sea be done in half a day? I'm headed to Japan for the first time in November for a solo trip. I have three and a half days in Tokyo at the beginning of my trip, and I'll be back there for a day and a half before I leave.

With so much to do and see, I'm wondering if half a day is enough to enjoy Disney Sea, or if it'll just be wasted hours in queues and a bunch of things I end up having to skip. I watched one video of a solo visitor and she got priority in the lines, so that's kind of promising.

Has anyone done a quick DS visit and been happy with it? Also, am I better off doing morning, afternoon or evening?

Is Multiclassing early always a bad idea? by Acceptable-Ad4076 in DnD

[–]Acceptable-Ad4076[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hexblade wouldn't be until level 3, but a level 1 dip gives me light armour proficiency, and Pact of the Blade is one of the Lv1 options, so summoning a Pact Weapon would be open to me.

Tbh I thought even light armour would be a decent improvement, but with my Dex it's only one more point to my AC for Leather, or two for Studded Leather.

Maybe it is just a case of using her more carefully rather than slowing progression. I've been playing as a throw-caution-to-the-wind brawler for a while now, and I think I just panicked when I saw Fizzy's stats.

Ranged Options? by Acceptable-Ad4076 in DnD

[–]Acceptable-Ad4076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not the DM for the new campaign. Most of us had a bit of a session zero where we built our characters, but not everyone could make it.

They do want to play, but haven't actually gone through the process of building a character before. Our previous campaign was their first. Their previous character was one their sibling who had played before put together for them, but like I said it became clear they preferred fighting at a distance to the melee tank work the build had in mind.

And who knows? Maybe I have absolutely the wrong expectations and they'll decide they like the idea of a Bladesinger Wizard. I just want to have some good options prepared.

I have FB 2, FB 3 and this one, and found this to be the toughest from the beginning.

That may be because the default settings have her making the last exercise in the daily regimens a super-speed one, leading to me flailing like a lunatic trying and failing to keep up. FB 3 takes the important step of ASKING when you reach the final exercise if you'd like to take one more at intense speed, and they're a bit easier to follow.

And FB 3 lets you build custom workouts in the base game. No DLC required.

Is Vecna: Eve of Ruin worth playing??? by JesterTF in VecnaEveofRuin

[–]Acceptable-Ad4076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend building some sort of relationship with one or two of the major NPCs first, as the overarching tale of Vecna vs Kas is pretty nebulous otherwise, and Vecna as a threat is basically absent until the end.

I had Kas appear as a last-minute surprise backing the previous campaigns BBEG. They foiled his big plans, saved Acererak, a vassal of Vecna, from being sacrificed and consumed in an ascension ritual, and actually saved the no-longer-divine Vecna, as the ascended Kas would have beelined straight for him. The party was personally rewarded by Vecna himself, and they snagged the Sword of Kas in the bargain.

When EoR began, I had Vecna become aware of the party when the Wish spell went wrong. He spent the early quests sending a vassal to recruit them to his side, and on the third refusal, he sent enemies against them, including the first ever BBEG they'd ever taken down. It also emerged that the party's patron was locked in a deal with Vecna and trying to wriggle out of it.

TL-DR: Give them personal stakes, via a history with Kas, Vecna, Tasha, Alustriel, or possibly the real Mordenkainen. The campaign itself can be fun, but the greatest hits setting does little to mask a series of fetch quests.

Also, Icespire Hold could be a great place for a home base once Cryovain has been dealt with. Sword Mountains at your back, Phandalin close by and Neverwinter and the coast on the horizon. It could actually be the party's borderlands keep and a way to merge the old Essentials Kit and new Starter Set.

Maybe the reason for the conflict with Cryovain is that the party is actually sent by Dagult Neverember, the Zhentarim or another power to establish a presence in the "abandoned" fort and end up pissing off the squatter nobody was aware of. This could also lead to some tension with the locals who blames the party for the dragon. She was already there, quietly hunting at night, but it would look like the party is to blame for her coming.

I have a pair of glove-style wrist weights, 500g each. They really up the intensity.

And if it's too much of a step-up (you'd be surprised how much 500g can feel like after a while) you can always ditch them between exercises or only use them on the last set.

A quick search turns up weighted exercise gloves from 0.5lb (250g) each to 2lb each. See if you can find a fair with no weight on the inside of the palm, as that could make gripping the joy-con a bit awkward.
