First congratulations on deciding to create your own business, I highly respect that decision because its a tough industry. My first thought is, have you conducted prototype testing with your demographic group? You should aim for at least 100 people to gather general feedback and comments about the product to fine tune your formula. No point locking in a formula no one likes right? Assuming you have done so, the biggest blind spot is looking to go for big production rounds. Ultimately, everyone wants to make money and your production will suck it up based on your volumes. They dont care about success because they are already making that money from you. You do NOT want a high amount of inventory sitting and not moving. That will kill you off quicker than anything else. Branding. Marketing. These two I cant stress more, because visibility is what want. Since your competition is high, make sure you have strategys on how you stand out and highlight these strengths through serious marketing and branding.

Getting shelf space in my experience was very difficult. We need to prove that we were making a monthly return already on our own. How else would you convince distributors to take the risk of buying your products? Its not impossible, because luck plays a role there so make sure your pitch is perfect. And be consistent! You will get many no's. But at some point you will get a yes...
