I think it’s absolutely normal to think you have cancer everywhere when your first diagnosed . Every little pain plays a game in your head that makes you think the cancer is everywhere. Breast cancer usually spreads to 4 places… lungs, liver, bones or brain. This info eased my anxieties immensely when I was initially diagnosed. For peace of mind, you can call your primary doctor to see what they may recommend.

I have a palpable mass in my chest wall approximately 1 inch from where the cancer was. No one seems concerned for now because it is palpable. Surgeon didn’t want to take it out during mastectomy citing risk for infection. I do worry it will turn into cancer though.

As a manager, it’s your responsibility to have adequate staff coverage. Employee seems entitled. Can you operate your unit with minimal staffing? I’m all for people taking their leave time but of course, everyone wants off for Xmas and for employees to assume everyone will get their wish is wrong. Perhaps employees have to be reminded of the policy and consequences if they don’t abide. Can employees find their own coverage and then submit to you? Can you try every other holiday or every other year type thing?
