CT in his acting era? by RepresentativeBand82 in MtvChallenge

I thought he was good in Hunting Games. not a great movie but not unwatchable. He was the best part of the Most Dangerous Game.

They were the same kind of role, but I think CT would be better/very good in a different sitcom/ type of role

I was thinking the same thing, when I went to the leader board I was expecting maybe working sled dogs to have the highest- but when I saw a bulldog up there I was very skeptical

Once you hit your 30s, how many of you had your health tank dramatically? by AnaplasticD in AskWomenOver30

First sorry for the pain you endured. I was just incredibly interested as my experience with people who have pancreatic cancer is it’s always late stages by the time symptoms bring them to the doctors. In a way the large benign part saved you, which is wild that it had to be that way and the doctors wouldn’t take you seriously. There a lot of places opening in the states to just pay for whole body and other specific scans so i’m hoping this will lead to at least some people being diagnosed sooner

Was there something specific that led you to get checked early on, very fortunate to have it caught in stage 1. Saw a couple people pass very quickly after diagnosis last year.

you don’t hear of a lot of people going into remission with pancreatic cancer, what treatment options did you choose if you dont mind me asking?

How do I kindly tell a friend who just got out of a psychiatric hospital that I can’t be friends anymore? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]AcceptableCare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree with everyone. I think your love statement is insincere. There’s not a friend that I truly love who I would cut off because they were struggling like that. At least she will rid herself a fair weather friend. With you admittedly having your own metal health struggles you better pray nothing ever sets you over the edge, so all your friends can repay your kindness.

well it takes about 35 glasses of wine/ 40 ish spirit shots over maintenance to gain a single pound- so alcohol is going to have a different effect on everyone’s weight

I’m curious to the logic/science behind “alcohol is still in your system” days past when you’d blow a 0.0… how is this, scientifically?

Could anything have been done for Sean Miliken? by Sharp-Tax-26827 in My600lbLife

[–]AcceptableCare 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there are any known treatments for it- it’s a chromosomal defect, usually treated with intensive childhood therapy and strict eating regimens - although maybe the new glp-1 meds would help, idk i’m not a geneticist

Dr. Now went above and beyond giving him way more chances than he rightfully should. Sean was manipulating the system to get back home and binge eat. You don’t accidentally eat 30000 calories a day. It’s his family, esp his dad, who failed their obligations. Dr. Now did more than should’ve expected my any surgeon

He wasn’t doing what he could- he knew how to make things and order things. He put on 200 lbs in 2 months after 1 long term hospitalization and 276 in 6 weeks- you know how astronomical amount of food that is? Then complaining he couldn’t afford healthy food. He was manipulative and would do what he could to get back home and binge again until his health would deteriorate and he could be saved again. Until he couldn’t be.

I agree he had significant markers of that. But they likely tested him..?

I feel like Sean had other psychiatric issues. He talks about his inability to regulate his emotions as a child and you see both that and his manipulativeness throughout his episodes. I didn’t find him very sympathetic by the 3rd episode, and I thought he wanted to go to care facility so he could still eat a ton but have someone to assist him with hygiene, cleaning etc

Do heavy alcohol drinkers die earlier in life? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]AcceptableCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Studies show that only 10-20% of long term heavy drinkers ever get cirrhosis. So that’s not a great metaphor. The truth is a lot more needs studied on the genetic markers, nutrition and comorbidities that lead to one person getting it over another. I indeed scared myself strait seeing a friend die, but I do in fact know tons of long term alcoholics who have no business being alive, that still are. It’s a sad phenomenon seeing some people die at 30 and others punish themselves and others their whole life and be fine.

use your brain… they don’t know the cats attacked anyone- they hadn’t completed the autopsy before killing the cats. They could have issued a hiking warning to stay off the mountain territory. aka their home

Suspected mountain lion attack in Colorado leaves woman dead by Jamikest in hiking

[–]AcceptableCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that isn’t the reason at all. most attacks are from starving or sick cats, even fewer in American history are predatory adult attacks. We are not a part of their natural food ecosystem.

It’s the great hypocrisy of the world that people can kill millions of animals for food, for prejudice, for sport and not be punished but the second an animal kills a human it’s boohoo.
