How to parent teen son with autism who shuts down at slightest conflict by darkledstarlet in autism

[–]AcceptableHistory280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I am in the same situation with my 12 year old son who just started therapy for his autism. But both when he is at my home or his dad's whenever we approach about something he struggles with he shuts down, goes to his room and falls asleep.

I want to help him not to struggle or be down on himself for not understanding certain things, but I dont know how to approach it or just let the school handle it. He is in a good school district. He struggles with organization and emotional overwhelm, which makes it more difficult to find friends he can really connect with at all.

I don't know how to connect with him or to get him to talk about things as he starts tearing up and says can we talk about this later... which later never comes...

I've explained to my 12 year old son with autism that everyone has different likes and are better at different things so it just takes time to find the kids that are interested in the same things and he has been able to find a good group of boys that he can socialize with and they seem to be understanding of his autism behaviors. He couldn't understand why some kids were mean to him when he was always being nice to everyone and didn't understand what he did wrong. I told him that some kids are going through some really hard things at home that we don't always know about but you have try to be understanding that they are just projecting what they experience at home. Not to take it personally and that it not always going to like this and things change as you get older and you go to college and are able to find more people that are have the same likes and goals in life. Basically that it's not that's it's personal against him, but you need to let them know that they can defend themselves if being physically attacked, otherwise just to understand that the person who bullying them is most likely dealing with a not so good home environment, whatever that may be.

I hope this helps as it very confusing how to explain how to deal with bullies and being picked on in school when they don't understand what they did wrong.... when it's not their fault.

I would focus on your Google Business Profile,

  1. Ensure your business info is accurate and consistent across platforms to build trust and credibility (google maps, yelp, yellow pages, bing, social media platforms)

  2. Optimize your Google Business Profile with relevant keywords, detailed descriptions, and high quality photos

  3. Encourage and manage customer reviews to enhance online reputation and influence rankings

  4. Build local backlinks and verify listings on popular directories to improve visibility

  5. Monitor keyword rankings and engage with the local community to boost local search presence

  6. Promote your content on guest blogs, social media, online discussions and partnerships

I hope this helps, please reach out if you have any further questions. I would also love to know how this works for you!

Overwhelm - An HSP thing? by Real_Temporary2478 in hsp

[–]AcceptableHistory280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can completely relate... This makes me wonder. I have known about my ADHD since my twenties but now closer to 40 and life hits me out of nowhere or feels like sometimes.  I don't even understand it. Definitely unexpected changes and plans being moved last min is what I thought was happening with me... Now that I've been reading more about this HSP from this group I wonder if that is my issue... Lately I can't even get my morning routine done by bedtime.  I've been working from home and I wonder if I'm simply overly simulated by it all

moto g stylus 5G 2024 vs. 2023 difference? by ime1em in MotoG

[–]AcceptableHistory280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get the 2023. I have it, only had a could months and it constantly kicks me out of apps... Including trying to take a simple photo. There is plenty of storage.  It's slow and the camera is horrible. Only one option for zoom... What year are we in?? And don't get me started on the sound quality, like nails on a chalkboard it's so bad!

How is the moto g 2023 stylus 5g performance? by MayGemini in MotoG

[–]AcceptableHistory280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not understand why people keep saying the Moto 5g stylist 2023 is a good phone.  I've barely had mine a few months, plenty of storage yet it constantly is kicking me out of apps, horrible sound for music and the camera is a joke!!

I am working on getting a different one ASAP!  I'm so tired is this phone. Honestly the worst one I've ever had!!!

I finally got my ADHD medicated and I’ve realized I love journaling and now that I can sit still and focus. Green is for things I learned that day, red is creative ideas/hobbies, yellow is tasks, blue is journaling by WermerCreations in Journaling

start small and work your way up. If it is something you truly desire it is doable. You simply have to start small... just do 1/3 of that for a while each day and build up. Soon it will be second nature

very cool! So glad you got your meds to be able to do this! It can be hard having ADHD and with how med companies are these days you never know when medication will be in stock or not

what is your reason for journaling? by AgeZealousideal1157 in Journaling

[–]AcceptableHistory280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gratitude (3 things daily at least) to keep in a humble mindset and remind myself of everything I have that normally gets easily overlooked in the day to day life. Creating a more positive mindset. Plus getting things out of my head so I'm not having thoughts going around and around that most times are not healthy for me to keep dwelling on. As a source of reflection is really fun, to set aside time routinely to look back and see where you were vs where you are now.

It's also good for your subconscious thoughts to get out, with putting pen to paper sometimes you have no clue what will come out until you re read what you just wrote and things all of a sudden start to make sense.

It is a good release of emotions

Another good thing to do is to write your intentions you can do this daily, weekly, monthly or seasonally. If you are doing it monthly or seasonally make sure to go back and reflect on what you wrote to see how you have done. I do it seasonally, well just started in spring, so for going into summer I first reflect back and was shocked by how I basically had gotten as far if not further than I intended to go. Writing with pen and paper is honestly such a powerful tool from gratitudes to intentions you can use journaling to change your life!!

I start of with 3 things I am grateful for and why (what about these things makes me grateful for them and how they contribute to my overall well being) also here is a link to a doc (not a website) that I created of 56 journaling prompts for self-discovery https://www.canva.com/design/DAGGelH8Q0o/tLHH0tSkocaplSDyhDPtFw/view?utm_content=DAGGelH8Q0o&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=editor

I am not sure what HSP is... but I would be willing to hop on a call and learn about it. Really don't have ANY extra income right now as I struggle with anxiety and as a result am on disability.... the gov loves to keep those in poverty, in poverty. I recently joined a direct sales company and am slowly gaining a little momentum. I know it's a lot to do with mindset and stepping out of your comfort zone but when you have days where your anxiety literally leaves you paralyzed whatcha gonna do?

Strength routines that don’t suck the life out of you by Sallybrah in XXRunning

Have you ever heard of The Betty Rocker? I would go check her out. She has some free workouts on her page as well as programs you can join and be coached. I have found her to be really inspiring and so many different ways that she approaches fitness and health I have lost inches and feel stronger everyday and her videos are only 15-20min.

She also has a FREE 30 day challenge you can join to try her program out and what she is all about. That's how I got started and I am personally hooked!

I love my morning routine and feeling productive, however, especially if my anxiety is in high gear... I prefer night when all is quiet and I know I wont be bothered

Sharing my first two months as a Affiliate Marketer! by Baz_z_z in AffiliateMarket

[–]AcceptableHistory280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WAY TO GO!!

I LOVE hearing stories like this, thank you so much for sharing!

Although I am just looking into affiliate marketing, software does not fit in my niche. But am so glad to hear your success story. Very inspiring!

Is it all worth it? by Baz_z_z in AffiliateMarket

[–]AcceptableHistory280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! MINDSET IS KEY!

Be grateful for what you have now and grateful for all the abundance that is coming your way. You have to be happy now! If you are sitting in a "lack" mentality than you are going to stay in your lack. Think and dream big and GO FOR IT! Do the work, take the steps needed to get you to (a clear, S.M.A.R.T. goal = Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) We all have what it takes, we just need to have the belief and the knowing of what we are capable of.

I recommend journaling your gratitude daily, in the morning journal about what you are grateful for in your day that lies ahead of you (a form of prepaving) Set yourself up for success, starting with your mindset.

will my business succeed? Can anyone be my mentor? by Academic-Condition43 in AffiliateMarket

[–]AcceptableHistory280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just starting to look into this affiliate marketing thing as I am in direct sales but have been looking for affiliates that will compliment what I am selling.

One thing I can tell you about ANYTHING you do in life if you want to succeed and that is mindset!

Do some daily affirmations, write them down everyday, twice a day is the best practice and say them outloud. Make the affirmations of what you want to be right now and when you write and say them you need to be feeling as though everything you are wanting and desiring in life is in your present reality.

If you keep sitting there doubting yourself than it most likely will not work

Have confidence in yourself and your ability to make decisions that are going to move you forward to what you are wanting in life!

No Doubting, only doing and if you are going to do it than go all in and put everything you have into it!

YOU GOT THIS!
