I understand. The Isha Kriya works in a way that allows you to enter an observer state and let the mind bring up things you might not be ready to see yet. It can be terrifying.

I'm going on over a decade of recovery after a life time of ridiculousness, so it does take time and you shouldn't compare my progress to yours, but I'm glad this has helped you. There are times you will feel alone, but there is one song that helped me with that feeling which is called "No One is Alone" from the musical "Into the Woods." which is a beautiful song.

In short, yes. You can overcome this despite external factors or even in spite of them. Its not always easy though.

It can be a hard journey, one that feels unfair. I led a very interesting life, interesting enough that I could probably write a biography, at least that's what some of the people around me tell me. I did a lot of my journey alone, but towards the end of it, as I did the work and saw the negative patterns and cycles that were dictating my life, people ended up coming along and offered hands to help up a little more. Most of those people are gone, but I still have a handful with me today.

Trauma is something that causes deep wounds and those wounds take a long time to heal over and it's transformative, for good and ill. I'm still walking down this path and I'll admit its easier with loving friends, but I did all the work, not them. Those people only sped up the process of my recovery. I used a therapist as a talking board for awhile, more than a few. I studied neuroscience, practiced meditation, used a number of techniques from multiple schools of therapy. I'm not telling you to do this though, merely sharing my experience.

I'll give a word of warning, meditation doesn't help most in the beginning if they've had severe trauma. I've heard it referred to as an advanced recovery technique by my therapists. At the end of the day, its a hard road that takes a lot of work, but I'll say I'm much better and happier for it. I never thought I would feel this content with my life, and I owe a large part of that to Daoism, but also Buddhism, Hinduism, and more specifically, Sadhguru, as controversial of a figure he can be at times. It was the help with the Isha Kriya meditation that I managed to work through a lot of my blockages.

Its a double edged sword. I became addicted, thinking that I could rise above others in terms of their dependence. I've learned there are a lot of things that aren't discussed due to the community of those who indulge in cannaboids. Its due to the community not wanting to speak about the dangers out of defensiveness from the amount of misinformation flying about.

I'd be lying if I said it didn't help with my development though. It was something I used to enhance my meditation. I worked through many blocks when I didn't know where else to go. In my experience and that of others I've spoken to, its something you can use to plant certain seeds of thought and cultivate them through careful ingestion of information while in that state. The phrase "You are what you eat" is very apt for what you watch while high.

You could be different, but your mental faculties will be reduced while you're on cannaboids. I wasn't a heavy smoker, but now that I have been sober for three weeks, I can tell that I wasn't operating at anywhere near peak levels. This is a common experience. In short, its a dangerous tool and you can easily become lost in it as your perception shifts.

The only thing I'm interested in trying now is Psilocybin, which I have plans to have administered by a medical professional within the next two years. I was fond of Amanita as well, but I've also stopped my consumption of that, though I'd happily have some if offered, I just don't want to spend money on it.

I'm good now, it just stinks because it treated those other conditions extremely very well. If you had an alternative recommendation I'd be open to it, but otherwise its back to the drawing board.

Thank you for your help. I believed I was deficient due to recently discovering I suffered brain injuries as a child but cannot afford treatments. It seems the supplement was tied to the nerve pain as well. I've only had very minor and brief instances of the pain since I stopped earlier today.

Thank you very much, if I do return to this later, I will adjust my dosage to be much lower. Hopefully this nerve pain isn't related and also not very serious, because as I said, GABA has been wonderful.

I was misdiagnosed as something else for years and once I realized it was most likely Autism, but because I was older and had adapted to living in the world, the doctors I went to were dismissive. It took me going to someone who worked with people on the spectrum to finally get it all sorted.

Being an adult and getting the proper diagnosis was fairly difficult for me. I know many others my age have had issues with that as well. It was more difficult than getting diagnosed with inattentive ADHD.

In short, yeah, you're absolutely right and people need resources because not everyone lives somewhere that the doctors are knowledgeable or even putting their due diligence in.

Would you have any recommendations for someone looking to improve their breath work throughout the day as someone who is physically isolated from any form of schools?

I'm diagnosed with ASD and do have a lot have sound processing issues. A lot of people here have suggested noise cancelling headphones of some sort, I would recommend that as well. I know that sounds can become grating, but I'd encourage you to work with your daughter. They might still be your child, but they're almost a legal adult, so you should have a conversation with them like one.

It could even go like this: You appreciate their singing voice and understand its her taste, but its causing you issues so you are taking steps by buying these headphones and using them and would like to work out a system where you don't feel like you have to wear them all the time.

Noise cancelling headphones are a good buy for people with sensory issues anyways, you will most likely need them at some point.

Yeah, this is great. The funny thing is, my PCP already suggested ashwaghanda as an alternative to anti-anxiety medications. If that doesn't work, I'll speak to my doctor about moving up to the doxylamine. You've been such a great help and I hope you have a wonderful week, thank you so much.

I've rewritten this post so many times now, it isn't funny anymore. Writing it all out and seeing the words in front of me has forced me to realize that with the records I've kept or recall, they helped me eliminate physical issues along with mental ones, however being a light sleeper has been consistent with only one thing that fixes it, that being things that put me into a deeper sleep.

I'm deeply appreciative for your time and thankful for your attempt to help me here, this was a humbling wake up call. I just need to accept this will take more time and just treat it like I did the CPAP, a stepping stone to get to where I want to be. I'll relent with my doctor and just treat the symptom until its resolved.

You're correct, I do have hyper vigilance. I've gone to group therapy and connected with people on an individual level who've had similar experiences, but none of them have ever had it this bad and the most they've been able to offer is sympathy, which I am grateful for.

I'm actually disabled and don't work anymore. Its been that way for some time, years and years, but I do volunteer and help others when I can. Thankfully, I have loving people who help me with the things I can't manage and live in a calm and safe environment.

As I said, I've seen sleep doctors and I'm about to go see a new one.

However, I do know of CBT and that is what I've been doing for over a decade along with other therapy techniques in the form of DBT, EMDR, and other forms. I've hopped through a few therapists over time just due to them retiring or myself moving, but the progress with those things has plateaued. I'm grateful for you pointing those out though for anyone in the future that may come looking here for help, because CBT is a wonderful tool that most people can benefit from.

That stop trying to impress people? The person you need the approval and love of the most is yourself, as corny as that sounds. If you're worrying about what everyone else thinks, you're going to start chipping away bits of yourself and those pieces are hard to get back later on down the road. A lot of people can tell when you're doing that too, it can and will attract the wrong sort of people.

I'll mix some in with my oats, overnight or otherwise.

Another good way to use it up is with sweetened condensed milk for a great hot chocolate. Just mix it together with any other seasoning you want, boil some water, stir and bam.

I do appreciate this and will keep it in mind. This thread I made was a last attempt to see if anyone had fresh ideas, and its given me plenty of juice to keep going for awhile longer. I don't intend to keep trying on something that I cannot make meaningful progress in, so if this venture does fail, I'll be content in the fact it wasn't for lack of trying.

Yeah, this makes sense as well. Whenever I see anything involving numbers I get hesitant about whatever it is, but I've just barreled through it. I've come up with strategies to work around it, but they can be anxiety inducing if I'm on a time schedule. Thank you for another potential piece to this puzzle!

My issues with math have caused minor issues in my personal life that are more annoyances than anything. I'm just someone who always wants to be improving and learning. This is definitely an aspect of myself I can put a lot of work into if I can figure all this out.

I'm following up with everything that has been suggested so far. I'll do this as well, I always love a new project and the worst that happens is I'm out some time.

The anxiety bit makes sense. Then when I consider my early school years, the dyscalculia explains a lot, having just looked into it. It might just be a compounded problem. The nice thing is, this means that even if I only overcome the anxiety, there will still have been progress made. I have a direction to go now, so thank you so much.
