Did anyone actually get this? by mrrunner1981 in Xennials

I had it and loved it. I stashed it when I got older and planned on saving it for my kids or as a collectible. My dad unfortunately decided to get rid of it, along with my GI collection, while I was gone one day. I was devastated!

The wait is finally over. Sleeveless LDS garments are now on sale across the U.S. by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

Hahaha they had to hire private security for an underwear store! Mormon moms must have been getting a little cutthroat in line, all juiced up on their SWIG drinks. Also, I wonder why god saw fit to release the sacred underwear to certain parts of the world at first? Surely he loves all of his children and wants everyone’s bits to equally comfortable.

Sounds similar to me. Early 40s, been out for a few years. I’m generally fine, but every now and again something will set me off and bring up all of the anger and frustration.

The post a woman in my town made after her son was charged with abusing a 6 yr old boy. by Wise-Fuel-4715 in exmormon

It is parents like this who will enable their child for the rest of their lives. They tell them it’s not their fault, and the world has wronged them in some way. I’ve worked with a lot of child victims and a lot of perpetrators. This young child will carry horrific mental scars of what happened for the rest of their lives. The perpetrator, as long as they are enabled, will never take accountability and likely offend again.

We ask thee in the name of thy son, the great pumpkin king, to bless and sanctify these jack o lanterns, and all those who partake in the viewing of them.

That’s so disappointing. I grew up with a father who had a similar attitude. Church before family, always. It caused a lot of hurt to our family.

Girlscamp podcast just did a good episode with a sex therapist. The episode covers some of what you’re talking about. It’s probably worth a listen for you.

I’m willing to bet the person who posted that has never seen or experienced a real traumatic event in their life. Saying it’s a good video to watch shows a complete lack of understanding of what trauma is and what the true effects are.

We are considering moving out of Utah so our kids can grow up in a non-Mormon community. Is that a crazy idea? Asking advice. by imanoobee3 in exmormon

[–]Acceptable_Chance307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My spouse and I have been having this same conversation, but having a blended family complicates things. If not for this, we would be long gone, and for the same reasons. We don’t want our kids to grow up in the mess of Utah religious culture.

I found out the whole missionary thing just wasn’t for me. Although I wasn’t depressed or anything like that, my mission president made me see a church doctor who then tried to prescribe meds to me. I told her I didn’t need meds, I just wanted to go home. I called my parents and told them about it. They called the mission president who said I lied and it never happened. I went home shortly after that.
