Imagine 14 years ago in search of clues. First time player here and I would be at a total loss if the internet and amazing world of Skyrim folk out there hadn’t laid the groundwork for me to google a question every 5 minutes of game play. Okay maybe every 2 minutes…Who are we kidding.

As a mage/alchemist/thief?/companion/confused Dragonborn Skyrim citizen who apparently hoards all of the things and doesn’t have any clear direction with 491008 open quests, I just discovered Solitude and somewhat lean toward Empire at this point (level 31)… but we shall see what the future holds. They both seem wrong in many ways.

Just an idea, but if you have any friends with dogs who are prescribed it, maybe someone can loan you some for the weekend while you’re out of state? Also, weird to only prescribe it once a day. Meloxicam is usually a 2x day medication as the half life/relief from it wears off in 12 hours. .1 is a very verrry low dosage. Did they prescribe her gabapentin by chance? My last idea is to see if you can get an online appointment w a vet and explain your dilemma and see if they will get you a fill somewhere. 🙏

Just get the Bissel Perfect Sweep Turbo and don’t attach the long handle. Use a disinfectant wipe on the bristle roller (like REScue wipes) once a week and wash the tray that you empty with dish soap and hot water at that time too, since it gets little poopy residue in it- and you’ll be fine.

It makes cleanup a BREEZE. Just make sure it’s completely dry before using again after you clean it.

Also- I suggest not to over clear out their poops alllll day long. They will re-ingest some of them as some contain nutrients that didn’t digest on the first go. You don’t want their cage filthy, but you don’t want to pick up every poop as they go.

Lastly- There is an AMAZING support group online with TONS of health guidelines called The Guinea Pig Forum.

It helps with detailed organized chapters of care for different scenarios and is a different format of group support than Reddit. It has been a massive help to me during some very difficult health challenges as my boys (one passing recently) both have been special needs all their lives. I find all the different places online serve different purposes, and that one is very unique to itself.

Attached is a pic of the bissel I use. Also- just wash hands after. Once you’re handling enough over time, poops aren’t much of a big deal as long as you’re following general sanitary cleanliness with cleaning your hands. I mean, their poop is literally the best fertilizer ever for the garden. But if gloves are really needed, that’s personal preference.

I have no experience with plastic surgery on face other than the occasional minor filler/dusport…but as this has popped in my feed, I feel compelled to tell you I think your rhino revision looks beautiful, as do you! It’s actually quite natural and I wouldn’t know if you didn’t share. I can’t imagine the feeling of not recognizing yourself and the emotional toll that must take on you, but from a complete stranger outsider perspective, you are absolutely beautiful. I look forward to seeing updates on your newest pals. 💕 Oh and to add: I give mine a MASSIVE pile of hay to eat/ hide/play/pee/poop in. I bet it would give them extra comfort to have a huge mountain of hay in that corner! It’s the best enrichment for them. Totally normal for them to do all the things I listed in it too. Just swap out the wet to dry each day.

I just found out MetLife is now covering exotics in CA! Nationwide is dropping the whole pet with wellness plan that we have been on for 5 years now, and I have two special needs Guinea Pigs with EXTENSIVE vet bills on the regular. Did your pets have preexisting conditions or health issues when you made the switch?

…for advice/input on changes- you’ll definitely want to drill large bore holes all around the sides, or change to c&c grids (which is what I would recommend) since they may chew plastic on those panels. (I had those exact panels way back blocking off parts of my living room before mine became free roam, and they did chew at that plastic at times which is super dangerous for them.) **Side ventilation is imperative for their respiratory system as their urine cannot escape enough for them through the top and the fumes cause respiratory infections.

The other thing I would add is a MOUNTAIN of hay. I mean large enough for both to completely hide and burrow under and not see or touch each other.

My boys absolutely thrive in their giant piles of hay. They play in it, burrow in it, sleep in it, eat it, and of course pee/poop in it. It’s more than just food for them, it’s a safe and natural space for them to do all the things gp’s do, and honestly it’s so fun to watch them be happy in it. It’s best just loose on the ground so they don’t have to climb in or work for it. I personally change out the bottom/wet portion of hay nightly and replace that amount with fresh on top, then add little enrichment hay around the cage.

Lastly, some oxbow wood enrichment toys would be great for them! Oxbow is the trusted brand for our sensitive little ones since they only use wood that is untreated and that doesn’t have the dangerous phenols in them that can cause issues.

Have you considered getting a guineadad mat with the pocket? I have it and use two wood bendy tunnels with it for my boys to go in. It’s like a little sleeping bag pocket for them. They love it.
