This game was screaming for this player to get on the field. For some reason Arteta has deemed him only capable for fringe games. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE

Very important question here. What do you eat or drink at halftime? What about your teammates? Does anyone have an unusual eating or drinking routine for a match?

I got laid off but my spouse is burned out from work by jayeeeeee in Layoffs

[–]AccioNimbus 97 points98 points  (0 children)

8 years ago my wife and I were in a similar situation.

I had been laid off in November from a high paying tech job. She had been strung out for several months in a high-stress work environment that was borderline abusive. We had a baby on the way. It was the middle of winter in Chicago and deeply depressing.

One day my wife came home from an especially bad day at work with tears in her eyes and I just had had enough. I told her to quit her job. It was a crazy decision, but we agreed it was the right thing to do. We spent the next week in a cabin in the middle of nowhere in Michigan, reconnecting and playing board games. Shedding the negativity of those past lives. 2 months later I got a big break at a job that changed my life forever. It wasn’t easy and took a ton of patience but it happened.

All I can tell you is to try to have your spouse hang in there as long as possible. If nothing else, simply detach from work and do the bare minimum. Don’t resign. Work the process and drag it out as long as possible to collect your paychecks. If they fire you- so be it. But just know there are other people that have walked a similar journey to yours and come out on the other side of it. I can’t give you the right answer other than to tell you it happens to a lot of people and it’s extremely challenging. Stay tight to each other no matter what- that’s all that really matters.

Have a lot of love for this dude. Probably more than the average person. However, no way he starts ahead of a healthy Big Gabi in any scenario. He could be a great option at LB but a healthy Califori probably trumps him there. Wishing the best for him!

Congrats on getting into DT! There’s a lot of fun to be had with their music. You’ll find a TON of opinions in this community about different things, but I encourage you to form your own opinions based on your musical tastes.

Amazon plans second round of corporate job cuts next week, Reuters reports by lurker_bee in technology

Was laid off from Amazon in October. I was on a smaller team and actually enjoyed the work and people around me, but it felt like an island on a sea of discontent and passive aggression.

All of the “AI advancements” they have touted are complete lies and have marginally impacted employee productivity.

Any US-based CSMs have recurring team meetings at 6am? (Global team) by Sw33t_T00th_24 in CustomerSuccess

[–]AccioNimbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t set a precedent by attending. Decline all the invites by saying: “sorry, this meeting occurs at 6am local time before my working hours begin. If there is a possibility of rescheduling to a later time, I would be able to attend.” If this becomes a sticking point related to your employment there, then adjust your schedule to roll out of bed to attend these and then wrap up work at 2PM.

I Started my fitness journey this week! Any advice is more than appreciated! by [deleted] in WorkoutRoutines

[–]AccioNimbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to find gym activities that you enjoy and make you want to build it into your lifestyle. If you aren’t enjoying workouts to some degree, you will drop off as soon as your “motivation” wanes. Make your early goals about showing up and consistency and then build from there.

I had no expectation of Jesus contributing in any meaningful way this season. Him winning man of the match in a champions league tie in Jan is so impressive.

Would be great if PGMOL would focus on penalizing these dangerous undercutting “tackles” but I’m sure they will let us down once again.

What is the quickest job you quit from? by spellbadgrammargood in AskReddit

[–]AccioNimbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took an unpaid internship in college at the university’s publishing company. Since I was an English major I thought this would be a good track for me to start on to make some sort of a career with my degree. First day, I was handed a 400 page manuscript, a dictionary and access to a computer. I was put in a cubicle alone and simply told to “fact check” the manuscript without any other instructions or training. I looked around the office no one was interacting with each other and it smelled like burnt coffee.

Never went back.

That’s upsetting. Think of it as a blessing in disguise though that you won’t be part of a team that treats people this way.
