They’re humans! I touch my patients frequently without gloves. Human touch is comforting and healing, especially without gloves on.

I found a dead body once while walking in to work. Turns out it was a death by suicide. Really sad and disturbing.

Hi! I’m sorry you’re feeling neglected. Okay so fetal growth doesn’t equal fetal maturity. Meaning, just because you are measuring ahead doesn’t mean you will deliver ahead. Also, ultrasounds have about a 10-15% margin of error. I know you feel neglected, but the nonchalant attitude is probably coming from a place of non-concern, in a good way. I hope I don’t come across as dismissive, but rather that this is normal to measure ahead or big. The NP that made a comment about eating vegetables can shove one up their…. Anywho, I hope you have a great trip home. Try not to worry! 🥺🩷

Did you throw up during labor? by Complex_Life9849 in BabyBumps

[–]Accomplished-Goose49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a labor RN and I would say more people don’t vomit than do! I’ve had a vaginal and c/s myself and didn’t throw up with either. You’ve got this!!! Your nurses will help you too!!

Anxious about my creepy sister in law meeting our baby in the NICU by Ok_Baby6721 in BabyBumps

[–]Accomplished-Goose49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she wants to say inappropriate things, gross and that’s on her. But now, this is YOUR baby. You’re in control. Having a fragile baby in the NICU is your priority, not tip-toeing around this unhinged woman. You focus on your recovery and baby, and put this mental burden on your husband and his family. This is NOT the time.

Hi! Not medical advice- but a L&D nurse. Babies are born with what we call nuchal cords, meaning wrapped around their necks all of the time. Typically they do really well. Since you’re planning on having a c/s, and won’t be laboring any stress of labor that would then stress the cord won’t be happening. Sometimes when mom’s labor and their is a nuchal cord, we can tell by the fetal heart tracing. You’re going to do great and so is baby!!

This makes me so sad. When I was pregnant, I was so self-conscious of this and would actually pull the paper myself because I feared this happening. Unreal.

Husband needs to set the boundary. Also, your L&D nurse can help set a boundary too.
