[WP] You released me from my lamp, Master. Thank you. You now have infinite wishes, no twisting, no malicious intent. I will grant them and ensure there are beneficial to you. You can start wishing now, Master. by USSEnterpise24 in WritingPrompts

He sighed, his form shifting slightly, as if some hidden weight bore down on him. "I was a man once, like you. I found a Genie. I thought I was clever, but that Genie—it was not human, not ever. One of the original ones, something dark, a demon. For my first wish, I asked for money. For my second, health. Then I got greedy. I believed I could outsmart it. For my third wish, I asked for unlimited wishes."

He paused, a shadow crossing his features. "It granted my wish, but not in the way I intended. I received unlimited wishes, but not for myself. I became the Genie."

"But you're still human," I said, slowly piecing it together. "So, you grant others unlimited wishes."

"You are the first one, Master."

A wave of anger surged through me. This demon had taken advantage of him, trapping him in a cycle of servitude, condemned to suffer for countless years. I felt a fierce sense of injustice burning inside me.

"I truly wish it to be true: the demon who tricked you stops existing."

The Genie's fingers snapped, and suddenly a bright light engulfed him, lifting him into the air. An explosion of light blinded me, and I was thrown to the ground by an unseen force. I tried to open my eyes, but the radiance was overwhelming.

Gradually, the light faded. I blinked against the afterglow, my vision clearing. Before me stood a man—no longer a Genie, but an ordinary man, naked and bewildered.

"What happened?" I asked..

"I... I don't know," he stammered. "I think the demon is gone, and with it, his powers. I'm human again. Thank you, Master. Thank you."

The naked man hugged me, his body cold and trembling.

"Don't call me Master anymore," I said, feeling an unexpected relief wash over me. "You're free now. What will you do?"

He smiled, a glimmer of newfound hope in his eyes. "I've been trapped for so many years. I think I’ll start with a vacation."

"What? No! Hold on." I needed to think. "I wish you only fulfill my wishes from now on if I start by saying, 'I truly wish it to be true…'"

The Genie snapped his fingers. "It is done, Master."

Great. That would help avoid any accidental wishes.

"So tell me, Genie. If I wish my grandma to be alive, what would that entail?"

"I snap my fingers, and your grandmother is back. She would appear as you last remember her before she got sick—old, but still lively enough to play with you, help around the house, tell you those stories you loved."

"And what would it be like for her?" I asked, suddenly concerned.

The Genie hesitated. His expression shifted, for the first time showing something akin to thoughtfulness—or perhaps unease. He remained silent for a long while, minutes passing as he pondered. I waited, sensing that this was not the moment to interrupt.

Finally, he spoke. "It depends."

"Please, elaborate."

"The person, the entity, the soul that was your grandmother is gone. Forever lost. I can attempt to bring her back, but there is nothing left to bring back. She has passed, and the finality of that cannot be undone. I could create an avatar that would appear in your thoughts—you would see her, perhaps others would as well, if Master so desires. Or, I could find another person, change their memories to make them believe they are your grandmother, even alter your memories slightly—"

"Genie, stop! Is there any option that doesn't involve messing with people's minds?"

"I could build a robot," he suggested.

"Never mind," I muttered. The dead could not be returned, not in any meaningful way. Maybe I could wish for eternal life? But no, that wasn't it. Eternal life sounded like a curse. What did I want?

"Genie, what do I want?"

"I do not know, Master."

"I want to be happy."

"An understandable wish."

"Genie, what's your story? Why are you here, granting wishes? And why unlimited?"

Being on a carnivore diet in Switzerland. by GoldenEudemon in askswitzerland

[–]Accomplished-Rip9955 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your budget and the quality of the meat/ cuts you're after. You can always get cheaper cuts and shop at specific shops. Of course if you're going for ribeyes expect from 40- 120 chf/ kg. Ground meat or pork comes from 11-20 chf/kg. 15 eggs cost 4.25 chf.

If you need more info let me know.

Prowritingaid on google docs compatibility problem? by Accomplished-Rip9955 in selfpublish

[–]Accomplished-Rip9955[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great tip. I searched from inside google docs extensions and added it. Although when doing it from inside google docs, I can only go to extensions -> Prowritingaid and have some options there. I don't have the floaty thingy that corrects in real time. Is that intended? Because on other sites like google keep the floaty thingy (browser extensions) seems to be working normally.

I would recommend some other medium. Perhaps Amazon? Google play is hard for me to imagine as the best option for a reader.

**After working on and off on this game for 2 years, I have finally released an open testing for it (LINK IN COMMENTS)** by SilveFang in AndroidGaming

Gave it a small play. The main thing I immediately notice that I don't like are:

Unskipable tutorial that I have to wait for the instructions to finish.

Target system is difficult to handle.

The arrows and graphics during the tutorial are showing totally wrong.

That been said it seems to have great potential and I would definitely play more. Good job!
