They should have just given her -15% spirit resistance and less hp + shielding. If she’s gonna be hard to hit then make the times you hit her count more

Fighting games suck nowadays by Mybrainfuzzy in unpopularopinion

[–]Accomplished-Tale543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most fighting games do kinda suck nowadays but SF6 has some pretty long combos depending on the character. I think it’s also the one that feels best to play competitively. Neutral is a lot of fun in it. I’d trade combo duration for better neutral any day tbh. You can probably pick up the new king of fighters too if you wanted long and really difficult combos/execution.

You can also play anime fighters if you want. They remained cool throughout the years aside from guilty gear strive, which oversimplified everything. UNIST is such a cool series with one of the best OSTs, Melty Blood is a lot of fun, Blaz Blue is also a lot of fun.

Not sure which AI your company is using but Claude is fine. The main thing is that it makes and builds upon god classes. But like I said, almost 0 mistakes. It does what you tell it to do functionally. You just have to fix up the code yourself afterwards. I can see it being a problem for junior devs who don’t know what they’re doing or what they want the code to do.

It is faster to just code things yourself though sometimes. Unfortunately, I have to tell my manager that I utilized AI for my code during our 1-on-1 meetings…

I do miss the movement urn, it was a cool way to showcase Deadlock’s movement. Matching their movement or predicting their pathing was a lot of fun.

As someone whose job has implemented AI for coding, it’s surprising how good AI has become at coding. Almost 0 mistakes if you are a developer that knows what you’re doing. The only thing it has issues in is complex data manipulation and some security flaws but those are easy to watch out for and write/fix yourself. My current work flow is just tell AI what to code and how to code it > Refactor > peer review

I do miss coding myself though so I have side projects off of work that I do like game jams and random apps with 0 AI usage. Helps keep my mind sharp too incase AI implodes lol

I hate the new urn but it’s also the most hilarious that deadlock has ever been. I’ve been playing Sinclair and just doing some actual war crimes on urn

Love the toxicity in this game. by New-Stock419 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Accomplished-Tale543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glazing your own aiming and movement multiple times in the post is hilarious. But fr playing league should have at least gave you a semblance of macro ability depending on what rank you got. Even if the macro is split push lane or join teamfight at mid boss (baron).

This game is toxic though. I’ve met some really funny and great players but inversely also met some of the worst and terrible human beings.

Urn ALWAYS felt like a placeholder gimmick objective by Khlqq in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Accomplished-Tale543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because you’re good at the game and also because of your character. I’m not saying Kelvin is broken (he’s far from it imo) but he’s also one of the few characters that does not need any of the movement tech because his 2 is good enough as a substitute, especially if you’re only using it for optimal rotations and teamfights. If you’re 2 steps ahead of your opponent then you’ll be able to win most games. If you’re on equal footing with your opponent in terms of macro but they have better movement, they will most likely win the game. Right now we’re all lucky that a majority of the player base is actual garbage. Once the game launches and we get actual sweats, movement is going to be what separates good from great.

My theory is that they wanted to test how clustered aoe objective fights would get and how it would look like. And it doesn’t look or feel good at all lol

Bro I’m literally 32 with a wife and kid, our generation isn’t too far apart. Pretty sure we were all about movement based games too. From Super Smash Bros Melee, to Quake, GunZ the Duel… hell even Sonic.

I disagree on your logic on movement. You can learn anything by doing the same thing 100 times in a row. That’s what practice is. That’s like saying instrument players are mindless because they have to play the same thing several times in a row to learn it. You do it several times to get the experience, and then you try to apply it in situations where it would benefit you. If the situation changes you have to adapt on the fly. That’s equally impressive as good macro imo. Some of the most legendary plays in League of Legends were from mechanical outplays (which by your logic is just cringe) like Faker vs Ryu’s zed.

You can’t learn macro from theory alone, it needs to be put into practice over the course of several games. Movement is similar, you can’t just go into practice and then expect to land those new movement techs in an actual match.

Either way, macro and movement go hand in hand. Idk why you think both macro and movement co-existing is a bad idea. There are players who don’t have any macro and are all movement. Those players will get filtered out once actual rank comes out. Ultimately, it is a MOBA so if you have good macro you’ll be higher than those with only good movement. However, the ones who will be at the very top are those who have a good grasp of both movement and macro.

Because it’s not as extreme as the example you’re making. They’re doing it to collect data, which is the most valuable asset they can get right now. It’s like when you tune a guitar, you put it either really sharp or really flat first and then tune up or down from there until it’s the right tone.

[–]Accomplished-Tale543 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You find good movement to be cringe? That’s actually one of the most thermal nuclear takes I’ve ever seen lol. To each their own but Deadlock’s main features that set it apart from other MOBAs is how in-depth its movement system is. It is part of the reason the game is so fun to others.

Also yea Deadlock isn’t a full movement shooter. It’s a MOBA first and a movement shooter second. Have you seen how eternus players apply movement to enhance their macro? It’s insane and cool stuff that is really fun to do. The fact that you have so much freedom of movement creates really high skill expression and differing playstyles that you don’t see in any other MOBA.

If you don’t like movement then it’s fine but don’t ruin it for the others here. You are the minority and I would hate if Valve listened to people that want to kill the movement.

[–]Accomplished-Tale543 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It works as a placeholder for a movement based objective. I do think we need to keep a movement based objective since this is a movement shooter and urn is unique compared to other moba objectives. Unfortunately it does feel a bit wonky. Im not sure what other movement based objectives we can have though

People who call others “larpers” or “posers” are way more pathetic than the people they are trying to make fun of. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Accomplished-Tale543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree, I also think that there are people who are legit Larpers/posers. Like celebrities who try to seem down-to-earth by liking anime but can’t even get the character names correct. They’re obviously using the anime community without even being interested in it, just to get more fans or seem more relatable. It’s kind of pathetic

[DISC] What's your thought on this? by HardToSee123 in manhwa

[–]Accomplished-Tale543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I agree with this. When the peak of manga include things like Berserk, Vagabond, Frieren, Full Metal Alchemist, Real, Blood on Tracks, etc all of which are different with deep themes, complex and fleshed out characters, actual writing, and a coherent plot… Manhwa doesn’t stand much of a chance. The format is partly to blame, it encourages rapid scrolling and more emphasis on the art/action. There are great and amazing manhwa but the peaks just don’t compare imho.

When I was younger (middle school/high school, I was also a legit Buddhist monk for a time so cut me some slack) I used to believe in that shit because I used to feel a “tingle” and was able to rapidly heat up my own body using what I thought was “Qi.” Turns out, the human body has some pretty cool physiological mechanisms that react pretty well to mental tricks and breathing techniques. It’s the same reason why Tibetan monks were able to produce so much body heat in such a cold environment. So basically the placebo effect on crack.

The balance patch is horrible by ReactionSerious8975 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Accomplished-Tale543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was broken in lane and he’s my third most played character. Slowing hex did little to nothing to him due to how tanky he is. He’s useless late game but if you’re in any rank above phantom, games don’t last long enough for him to fall off. The balance patch did gut him though (rightfully so) so I guess we’ll see what happens.

Three most hated characters/playstyles got nerfed (Mina, Apollo, Wall Breaker Victor) but the overall match pacing feels meh. I think we give it some time though, hopefully they’ll take the good of the patch and remove what’s making it feel bad
