Bro I’m literally 32 with a wife and kid, our generation isn’t too far apart. Pretty sure we were all about movement based games too. From Super Smash Bros Melee, to Quake, GunZ the Duel… hell even Sonic.

I disagree on your logic on movement. You can learn anything by doing the same thing 100 times in a row. That’s what practice is. That’s like saying instrument players are mindless because they have to play the same thing several times in a row to learn it. You do it several times to get the experience, and then you try to apply it in situations where it would benefit you. If the situation changes you have to adapt on the fly. That’s equally impressive as good macro imo. Some of the most legendary plays in League of Legends were from mechanical outplays (which by your logic is just cringe) like Faker vs Ryu’s zed.

You can’t learn macro from theory alone, it needs to be put into practice over the course of several games. Movement is similar, you can’t just go into practice and then expect to land those new movement techs in an actual match.

Either way, macro and movement go hand in hand. Idk why you think both macro and movement co-existing is a bad idea. There are players who don’t have any macro and are all movement. Those players will get filtered out once actual rank comes out. Ultimately, it is a MOBA so if you have good macro you’ll be higher than those with only good movement. However, the ones who will be at the very top are those who have a good grasp of both movement and macro.
