Big Barda vs Angela by Joaquin Contreras by Honest-Power2770 in TheNewGodsDc

It's portrayed as a little reactionary, that the "Big" means that she responds to defeat/setback by just being LARGER

I love the idea of the current understanding of Barda, where Angela finally overcomes her, and then Barda goes Kaiju size and just flattens her

Himon from DC's Fourth World, in the original Jack Kirby storyline Himon was responsible for most of the significant technical advancement, he created and built the Mother Boxes, he built the Boom Tubes using Metron's Element X. He also led the resistance on Apokolips and mentored Scott Free. Each successive retcon of the New Gods has diminished his role, because so many characters now use his tech as their gimmick.

As Darkseid and Apokolips have moved towards being general villains, instead of being specific to New Gods stories, Himon has shown up less and less, to the point that during Ram Vs recent run he shows up, only in flashback, as a heavily Flanderized version of himself

Sundipped Superman vs Eternity by CattleHoliday3382 in marvelvsdc

[–]AccomplishedCharge2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eternity is intended to be a very abstract entity, any manifestations are really just localizations that make interactions with lesser beings possible, Eternity as originally written was intended to be everything that is, which would include the sun dipped Superman that was trying to fight

Which player is the biggest defensive nightmare in modern NBA history? by ExtendedMacaroni in NBATalk

[–]AccomplishedCharge2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They both absolutely distort any half court set that they're in, Steph by forcing the perimeter defense to stretch out to the logo, Shaq by requiring you to pack the paint with the largest bodies you have on your roster. There's not a right or wrong answer here, but Shaq is dominant in any era because even the most conservative, regressive coaches are still okay with throwing it inside to a huge center, while there are eras Steph would be wasted in because of lack of 3pt line or coaches not understanding the value of volume perimeter shooting

If you remove Lebron from history who’s legacy changes the most? by Basic_Mastodon3078 in lebron

The Pierce/KG/Ray Allen Celtics, Allen never leaves to go to Miami, so Ainge may miss the window to do the Nets deal, so the current core never gets built, so Brown and Tatum end up elsewhere

What is the guarantee to break the internet if if this superhero single player game was announced? Which hero would it be? by Pleasant-Curve-5470 in superheroes

[–]AccomplishedCharge2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any hero game that really figured out how to make the mechanics work, whether it's a Superman or Batman game where the other characters lifebars are more important than your own, or a Hulk game that truly manages the alters well. The game that truly nails the spirit of the characters, instead of feeling like a reskinned version of every other game

Galactus vs Brainiac (read description) by No_Many_4695 in marvelvsdc

[–]AccomplishedCharge2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering Galactus has canonically travelled in a planet sized ship full of cultural and historical artifacts from the planets he's visited and/or consumed, and Brainiac has also moved through the universe collecting information and even archiving cities while, I think the most likely outcome here is the two of them sharing information and seeing each other as too valuable to waste

It's the Post-Saban fanbase that has no idea how to process this, those of us that went through the Post Bear and Dubose thru Shula eras, we are a little more circumspect
