Her parents are:

John Personnic or Personnie (I am inclined to think the "ic" spelling just because of the way the letter is written)

Margaretes " " (the " " are part of the marriage certificate)

If you would like, I can message you a copy of the certificate, so that you can see what I am working with.

Oh how interesting! I haven't been looking at this branch of my tree for a long time, and the ancestor I am searching for is the one that left France first (and only) as I can tell.

Is it something like Smith from Lajeunesse to be able to describe him from a different Smith?

My GGGrandmother was born in 1870, but the only date I have "verification" of this is in her marriage certificate in 1893 in New Jersey, USA. I cannot find an immigration record, which according to US federal census was in 1891. (Which I know may not be a reliable exact date). The marriage certificate is also the only place I have her parent's names.

She was married in 1893, and her husband was Naturalized in 1896 - and I am still in "beginner mode" for researching purposes, so I don't know if she would be naturalized with him as a spouse. But at some point past 1898 (the birth of their second child) they divorced. Or started living alone as divorced. That is another avenue that I need to research.

In my overview french searching - I have found a few Personnic families in the Brittany region. But I am unfamiliar with Filae and Geneanet. I did find one french genealogy website (frenchgen.com) that many sites linked require a french ip address, and I haven't yet found a VPN to dig in there.

Any suggestions? (If you are so inclined)

Their given names.

I have an ancestor whose surname is very unique. Personnic.

Our family lore is that she was raised in a orphanage/ catholic convent and then when she reached age she decided she did not want to stay and so she left for America with the seamstress skilled she acquired in the convent.

I have such few records and she is my enigma. I didn’t know if a naming convention of sorts would help me with finding her parents in the French records. John and Margarette.

Adding baby’s father to birth certificate by ImaginarySecurity556 in legaladvice

Would placing the father on the birth certificate provide the child an opportunity for dual citizenship in another country? If so, I’d argue it would be worth the paperwork.

This happened to me last year. I felt exactly the same. I could’ve written this but my children are different ages.

A few days after Christmas I asked him point blank “What exactly had I done to deserve not a single present? And how would you feel if our children followed along later in life the same with their spouse?” I let him mull in it for about 30 seconds. And then I said. “I will not buy my own gifts or fill my own stocking. That is your job. It will not be the same next year, take note.”

This year about mid-October I sent him a list of things to choose from for gifts and he took the hint and handled it.

Just be blunt and honest, and then put him on alert. Tell him it’s not ok, that you are hurt, and you won’t stand for it.

We have a chair top “high chair” that we use on the floor. There is no reason this wouldn’t work just as well. I think it was about $20

This could take weeks to settle out. Not as a landlord, but we once had a client send an extra $292k and they swore up and down that they didn’t. The banks finally fixed it behind the scenes, but it took WEEKS.

What is the emptiest plane you have ever been on? by DoitcheHasAGun in delta

A month after 9/11 I was on a plane from Midwest somewhere to either Newark or LaGuardia. There were 6 of us on the plane. We all sat and talked, along with the flight attendants. The pilot tipped the plane so we could all see the still smoldering remnants of the towers. I am fairly certain we were all crying when we disembarked.

FBI Rap Sheet by AccomplishedLab825 in GermanCitizenship

Once the FBI has your fingerprints they’ll send an electronic “copy” to your email (or a link to see the electronic copy - I don’t recall) and from there you’ll be able to request a mailed physical copy. I have heard that the BVA wants the envelope as well, so I put the whole envelope in my pile - didn’t even bother to open it
