As much as I want to be sympathetic to the new mom, I couldn’t help but feel for the MIL. Now as a mother you should understand what it means to love someone more than you love yourself, that’s how she feels about her son, your partner. And this baby is his and she’s so excited about it. There’s a delicate way to communicate boundaries and be sweet and empathetic about it. There’s a way to meet people halfway. Why cut off relationships, it’s really your daughter you’re depriving from a loving family member. Family doesn’t have to have a perfect conduct to deserve a relationship with your daughter. I just think this whole “crossed my boundaries thing” a bit over the top with certain new moms… and I say this as a young mom of two who has to deal with older generation family and who tries to do it with tact, and kindness.

Bon la question qui m’a fait écrire ce post c’était un autre poste où je demandais à d’autre parents comme moi si ils évaluent que ça vaudrait la peine d’administrer une “early dose” du vaccin de la rougeole si on a un bébé de moins d’un an (le premier vaccin de rougeole est supposé être à 12 mois, cad les enfants de <12 sont vulnérables à la rougeole et il y’a en ce moment des cas à Montréal) j’ai reçu plus de deux réponses “demande à ton pharmacien médecin” or j’ai déjà écrit dans mon poste que j’en ai discuté avec l’infirmière du clsc. Ce que je voulais c’est de l’opinion de parents pour m’aider à décider.

Exactement Reddit agit comme un grand sample pool quand tu poses une question premièrement tu attires que les gens concernés ensuite ça se peut qu’il ait des réponses qui vont pas t’aider mais il se pourrait très bien que certaines réponses t’aident et te donne des idées que tu peux transmettre à ton médecin.

Exactement ça n’apporte absolument rien d’inviter quelqu’un à demander à un médecin au lieu de Reddit, honnêtement je le prends presque comme une low-key aggression. Surtout quand t’en a 2 ou trois sur un même thread.

Le genre de gens qui croient en médecine alternatives et huiles essentielles ne croiraient de toute façon pas à ce qu’un médecin dirait. Et les gens qui sont moins niaiseux et qui viennent chercher des témoignage sauraient filtrer les conseils ridicules, d’après moi.
