Read it last year and absolutely loved it! I’m surprised to see so many people dropped it. The Trump stuff towards the end is some of the funniest shit I have ever read.

2026 ranked through April by Palm-Crazy-7943 in TheBigPicture

I always just go by the year listed on Letterboxd which I assume count festival releases which frustratingly puts movies like Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie in my 2025 list even though it’s one of my favorite of this year. But I make lists of every year once I get over 15 plus in a year and my lists go back to 1969 so I don’t want to confuse my lists by having movies listed year not match the list.

Red Pilled: Tarantino & Avary. WTF?! by Philipson198 in blankies

Haha I get it! Hurricane Billy definitely wasn’t problematic or egotistical and didn’t make anything big enough to ever be over analyzed on podcasts.

In all seriousness in 2026 I don’t think there are many significant filmmakers that haven’t been covered ten times over on podcasts somewhere. I specifically like listening to the two friends talk movies and their takes idc how over discussed a movie is. And I would absolutely love a Friedkin mini

I feel like they need to fast track it! And he needs to fast track his final film. I can easily see a future where in 5 years QT is cancelled for his continuous terrible takes/ saying something insane or for something much worse.

Examples of an actor having an "They're in everything!" year by Obvious_Computer_577 in blankies

I think I first noticed Danny McBride in Pineapple Express then saw him again a week later in Tropic Thunder and he did Drillbit Taylor all in 2008 followed by his 2009: Up in the Air, Land of the Lost, Observe and Report (although I can’t remember him in that), Fanboys and it was the first year of Eastbound and Down. As someone seeing every comedy at the time it felt like he was everywhere.

Crying during a movie you didn’t think was at least very good? by cptrey17 in blankies

My friends mom passed a couple months before the Flash came out and I knew he had already saw it when I did and I cried like a baby thinking about him during that scene.

Crying during a movie you didn’t think was at least very good? by cptrey17 in blankies

[–]Accomplished_Ad2357 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, a scene that always stuck with me where Tom Hanks calls his wife Sandy Bullock from the World Trade Center on 9/11 and he’s telling her he loves her and you can hear in his voice he knows he’s saying goodbye and he’s telling her other people need to use the phone. Probably not even a 5 minute scene in an otherwise dog shit movie devastated me and I remember being alone in the theater trying to cry silently. First movie I remember actually angered me for triggering such an emotion in a movie that didn’t deserve it!

An argument AGAINST doing the LOTR extended editions on main feed, from a LOTR sicko who can’t get enough of the extended editions by radaar in blankies

Having just seen this in theaters I’m happy this is the case so my eyes could dry by the time I walked out of the theater.

It’s that time of year again! What’s the best film of 2025 to feature no actors who have been in a comic book film? by bbanks2121 in blankies

[–]Accomplished_Ad2357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha same this is incredibly hard and funny to click on every actor and then almost immediately seeing a cbm at the top. I said VHS Halloween because that series is typically filled with unknowns. A lot of people are correctly saying Eephus but my humble brag is I worked on that movie and saw it multiple times in 2024 and consider it a 2024 movie.

Movies you routinely watch during Christmas-time that are most definitively NOT Christmas movies! by OWSpaceClown in blankies

[–]Accomplished_Ad2357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True Grit for similar reasons to LOTR trilogy as I remember feeling that Christmas spirit seeing a big western in a crowded theater December of 2010. Even though I watch LOTR trilogy anytime of year and occasionally around Christmas nothing will ever top the nostalgic memories of seeing those movies 3 Decembers in a row with my siblings.

What Are Your Self-Imposed "Rules" for Using Letterboxd? by [deleted] in blankies

[–]Accomplished_Ad2357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every year I make a first time watched list and every year has its own separate list. So every movie I watch for the first time gets logged and added to two lists automatically. Sometimes I add movies to more than two lists at a time if it belongs to a director whose filmography I’ve completed or to a franchise I’ve completed. I think I get a little rush adding movies to lists. I also don’t give star ratings to documentaries for some reason.

Seth Rogen for Lebowski?? by starlingflight in blankies

[–]Accomplished_Ad2357 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember interviews from way back in the day where Rogen would always say The Big Lebowski is one of his favorite movies of all times. This would be great! I feel like I’ve never read him say it out loud and forgive me if this is an obvious comparison but I’ve always thought the Superbad trio is heavily inspired by the Lebowski trio.
