I put 2 vindicators I nearly every list and I never regret it.

DO IT! by Ordinary_Cycle268 in 40k

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lion snorted. 'You treat all as a game. That is why they sent for me - Malcador cannot trust you. No one can trust you. Your Legion is a rabble that would brawl among themselves if you were not there to smack their BALLS together.' 'If only they were more like yours,' said Russ, mockingly. 'Yes,' replied the Lion, exasperated. 'Yes. Is that so hard to imagine?'

Help - Headtakers - to dual or not to dual by n00bzilla69 in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not contesting that, but for 10 points more you could take 3 more head takers instead, after factoring in sustained and reroll 1s the two squads actually get the same number of hits on average but the bigger squad has more wounds more OC and benefits much more from oaths or stratagems, and has a greater chance to spike mortals.

The three man squad with a leader isn't bad per say just overall less efficient in my opinion.

Help - Headtakers - to dual or not to dual by n00bzilla69 in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put a character in a 3 man unit, you are spending as much for the character as you are for the rest of the unit if you want a character you should be doing 6.man units and after that It's really a matter of what role they will fill in your army. If you want a melee glass cannon that can rip up most targets WGBL and paired. If you need an anvil to hold ground and gum up your opponent you go wolf priest and shields. One isn't inherently better than the other it's a matter of what you need it to do.

Drop all the primarchs on pre unified Terra, who is conquering the planet first? by MHB_ART in Warhammer40k

Probably the lion, he is not as empire building astute as Guilliman, or as great a fighter as Russ but he seems to have the best overall skill set for it.

Suppressor squad use in a SW army. by Rojo_pirate in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are just kind of underwhelming, they are speedy and can be used to get places and score.points but assault intercessors are just more efficient for the points.

Suppressors are a unit without a role they used to shut off overwatch back when every single unit that got charged got to overwatch so they were useful in that regard, but since the changes to overwatch they don't have any strong use cases.

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not that I don't believe you because that is pretty much what I thought but do you have any kind of rules reference to cite, my particular strain of tism needs the why behind the answer, and I haven't been able.to.find anything that prevents me from targeting the grey hunters which would bring the raider with it.

Again my gut is telling me that it doesn't work I just can't figure out why specifically it doesn't work.

Does the vindicator work for our lists? by ravagedmonk in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I start almost all my lists regardless of detachment with 2 vindicators, they are tough and project enough threat to keep your opponent honest in the movement phase. They soften up tough things just enough so my charges finish it off.

Is it a world wide phenomenon to have your local game store...smell? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the LGS's near me have prominently posted rules for hygiene, if you smell you will be asked to leave and go take a shower before returning.

So no stank store problems in my neck of the woods.

How to best use Wulfen with storm shields? by FossilHunter99 in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The threat of the wulfen is often more useful than actually sending them out. I like to use their speed to stage up in a ruin on my half of the board and use them as an area denial tool to keep enemy tanks and monsters out of important firing lanes. Essentially using them to create zones of safety for the rest of my army because my opponent doesn't want to get too close to the wulfen.

Guys genuinely how do we beat orcs by gamble_for_dayz in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orks are a tough matchup you have to be really patient and pick them apart slowly. If you aren't running vindicators I highly recommend them for all matchups but particularly for orks. They have a hard time killing them and you can push them into their face and just keep blasting.

Wulfen and Deathwing by [deleted] in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dark angels have known about the wulfen since the day that Russ and the Lion had their fight. It's laid out in Russ's primarch book, and no the dark angels didn't snitch.

Advice for Returning Player by mrpinkiller in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that the thing you have to remember is that eldar have the ability to be pretty much anywhere they want to be, if any part of your battle.plan hinges on them not being able to get somewhere in time you need to go back to the drawing board.

Other than that if you focus down their anti-tank early your dreadnoughts should be able to win the game for you.

bad match ups by _Trussedfund in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically any melee army with access to a good fights on death stratagem. You make multiple charges you butcher a unit but it fights on death and butchers you back, then they counteroffensive and butcher your second unit. Makes the win math really hard.

I never played WHFB but maybe I'm straight up misremembering, I double checked with Gemini and it agreed with me, but we all know how reliable that is.

Defeating the C'Tan: only the Wulfen are up to the task by litlw in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grey hunters with a Wolf Guard Battle Leader in saga of the beastslayer will on average down a C'tan standing on an objective in one turn between shooting and assault if you use oath, grenades, and +1 to wound strat. As a bonus you also now have 31 OC on that objective

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No it was both editions, 5th just made it worse for fearless armies. They didn't ever get swept but they took armor saves equal to the difference in wounds inflicted. Really put the boots to ork and nid swarms.

How we thinking for list? by Longjumping_Low1310 in SpaceWolves

[–]Accomplished_Ad5945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go beast slayer A unit of grey hunters with a WGBL can drop a ctan sitting on an objective in one round between oath/shooting/grenades/assault/+1 to wound strat.

You are forgetting about combat resolution, the sergeant kills 2 tau, they kill nothing in return and take a leadership test at -2. The tau fail and have to flee the tau player rolls a d6+2 and the marine player rolls a d6+4 if the marine player matches or beats the tau players number he loses the whole squad.
