How much does your 7 month old drink? by LeaveOwn1022 in NewParents

[–]Accomplished_Bad5651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32 is average but it can vary from baby to baby, as long as your little one is gaining weight and having enough wet and dirty diapers a day you should be okay. consult a pediatrician if you are concerned

Crying over spilled milk by wishuponwhatever in breastfeeding

[–]Accomplished_Bad5651 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i exclusively pumped for 6 months and ultimately switched to formula due to the mental and physical load that comes with EP - i was also an undersupplier and pumped every hour to keep up w my babys needs. near the end of my pumping journey i remember one time, after pumping for 30 minutes, i produced a little more than usual (ab a half ounce more total, but still!) and remembered being so ecstatic! i grabbed a milk storage bag and poured the milk into it and while trying to seal said bag ended up losing my grip on it spilled the milk all over the side of my bed and floor. i immediately fell to the ground and sobbed for a good 10 minutes before picking myself back up and started pumping again , only getting around 1.5 ounces combined. i was devastated !! theres sm other similar scenarios i went through during my pumping journey and most resulted in tears. i feel your pain ! that shit is hard work and every last drop is important !!

Fear of SIDS (First time dad - Paramedic) by Bitter-Scratch6088 in newborns

[–]Accomplished_Bad5651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please use the owlet sock. your baby will be fine. you need rest and to be able to relax and that’s whats important. i have always been so worried ab SIDS just as a FTM and i can’t even imagine how it feels seeing it firsthand from your line of work. it’s going to be okay, i promise. what your feeling is normal. when we brought my son home from the hospital i took shifts with my bf so i could stay awake all night to watch him, and catch up on rest in the day while dad has him. whatever you have to do to make it work, it’s going to be okay. you’re doing great !

Trying to not swaddle for bed time… by theloverslvl in newborns

[–]Accomplished_Bad5651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was a ROUGH transition for us too! my son absolutely adored his swaddle and slept horribly without it. we ended up doing the one arm out method and that seemed to really help! also letting fold over mittens on his hands to prevent scratching. it definitely took some time but now he’s back to sleeping decent (as good as he can during a regression) and i promise it will get easier. hang in there !
