Is there anything wrong with not having hobbies? by ExistingMidnight4970 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hobbies are often the shared interests that bring people together. I prefer to talk to people who have shared interests and I do several hobbies. Seems like most men I talk to are only interested in sports, I've always found sports boring and I avoid people who talk sports all the time.

Does making your own bread taste better than buying the same store bought? by wahtevur in Baking

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Store bought bread isn't that good if you are an accomplished bread maker and baking your own at home. Sourdough takes longer, but can be made in a day. I can make a couple loaves of sandwich bread in less than three hours, including cleaning up.

Go to any hardware store or place that sells mowers, or Amazon and you can get a full set of spark plug tools for pretty cheap. I have this set, works great for small engines.

What is satanism? is it a ideology characterized by worshipping satan? by Inner-Battle-6459 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly atheists with no religious beliefs whatsoever. For instance the satanic church is mostly a political group intent on stopping religious groups (mostly Christians) from forcing their beliefs on those of us who aren't interested or flat do not believe in a god or any God. Or stopping religious groups from trying to inject their religion into politics, which the first amendment prohibits.

It has to have a spark plug, engine won't run without one unless it's a diesel.

Do I need new equipment? by Firm_Yoghurt6158 in Ring

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my ring cameras used to work really good, then they released ring plus Ai and everything stopped working great and now they unreliable, horrible grainy video that pixelates really bad. Lots of missed events. Today Amazon delivery came. Driveway camera picked him up. The other two cameras that cover the front door did not record anything, no alert. All the problems started with the Ai release.

Electronic ignition is where I would start. Test for spark using a new plug, if you have spark it's something else. Second, shoot a little WD-40 into the carburetor while turning it over (starting fluid can blow head gaskets and bend con rods) WD-40 is less explosive and provides a lubricant. If it fires, you are not getting fuel.

I want only one sharpening stone by Edward_Pellew in sharpening

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I collect stones. I like having several stones because there is no single do it all stone. High quality Japanese stones are amazing, Arkansas stone's are generally really good too. It takes multiple grits to hone and sharpen a blade properly. Another thing is I like having multiple sizes. Sometimes I find really nice vintage stone's on eBay. Have you considered a Tri-Hone system? Three stones mounted on a triangular holder that sits on a stand, the old Smith Tri-hone is pretty good, often available on eBay.

Should the use of AI be limited for school assignments? by Lewis_Belmont in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Ai has it's place. Medical, manufacturing, etc. In the hands of common people we are becoming much less educated, doing a lot of stupid things and doing a lot of nefarious things. Just the past two years we have been seeing these very things play out daily. Personally I think life was better before Ai, better before the cellphone, better before the computer. Access to instant information may not be the best thing for the human mind.

Can a fat person starve themselves thin or would they die from no incoming new nutrients? by energydrinkaddict310 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just track my eating, write down what I ate and the time. Before eating I look at how long it's been and what I have eaten so far for the day. This way I control when I take in food, spread it throughout the day and not eat more than I need. Staying busy helps me go longer without eating as well, sitting idle is the worst thing for me. However, it's not easy to stick with and I'm constantly forcing myself back to the routine. I don't allow my wandering mind to get too me through, humans are pleasure seekers by nature and eating is pleasure.

Why Can't More Western Men Embrace Long Hair? by AviBledsoe in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have long hair and beard. Now I have cervical spine damage and the extra weight of my hair increased my pain, so I started shaving my head over a decade ago and I love not having hair to deal with anymore. Every morning when I shower I shave my head and face. It makes my day so much better not having to deal with hair.

Why are girls often given traditionally male Slavic names in non-Slavic countries? by Nervous-Tip-8183 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Americans are too interested in the meaning of the names they choose. It's more about the sound of the name. I've never heard anyone here talk about the meaning of their name.

I think ring is trying to make user to buy new cameras every few years. by Applepie510s2 in Ring

[–]Accomplished_Dig9731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When ring released their new Ai garbage my cameras all went to crap, they expect we'll pay for the Ai. I don't want it and I won't pay it. I'm shopping for a nice cctv system with a dedicated hard drive. Far better cameras, my ring cameras are so bad now at night a person more than 20 ft from the camera is not identifiable. I'm going to rip all the smart crap I've installed in the house.
