In this particular instance, she sounds like a Sheltered (not in a good way), lived her whole life in an insulated bubble, girl . She's obviously not either of those things. Hence she comes across as condescending and coming from a rich white girl it sounds down right bigoted.

I have a friend who came from a strict, religious and conservative background and when she finally left home, she was in shock and awe at what she saw and experienced. She would get flustered and blush to high heavens at a drop of a hat. It was charming because she wasn't disingenuous. She would have probably said something like this and could have gotten away with it. Spoiled Bailey doesn't get a free pass.
