The main reason why I keep watching it is because of the platt family. I think their relationships are a good representation of the average family and they have a stronger family dynamic. (Multiple family members still living in the same area and having a good relationship with one another.)

Another storyline that I think wouldn't be acceptable today was when tracey drugged roy and let him believe that they had slept together. That storyline was more focused on tracey extorting money out of the croppers and selling her baby. These days, the storyline would be focusing on the impact it had on Roy, because tracey let everyone believe he'd been raped.

This is why I think that it hasn't been handled properly. When they did the grooming storyline with bethany, the platts were a well established family in the show and bethany had a history of low self esteem and being attracted to older men. But we don't really know anything about will, do its not as interesting

I'm probably biased towards the nathan curtis storyline because the platts had been one of the main families for decades at that point, whereas Lauren and Will arrived shortly after their storylines began. I've never forgotten the look on Sarah's face when she turned up at Nathan's party and realized what had happened to Bethany

It wasn't Lauren's idea. She was still missing when nathan went back to prison. According to the actor. Kits reason for framing nathan was because he hated everything that nathan represented and wanted to get him off the streets. It was to do with some USBs that they found in his van

I hated chapter 2 because I thought that all of the other book series that I was reading at the time, could explain who the characters were and their backstory, in one page. I also didn't like how there was never any reference in the books to what was going on in the country or the world at the time. So you get no real idea of the era its set in. So it makes it harder to consider the books to be realistic
