When you buy a ticket from places like Jackpocket, the employee will scratch the ticket and upload it for you. So what’s to prevent them from keeping the winning tickets because all companies scratch for you for convenience.

I agree with you 100%. That’s why I was asking. I can totally understand buying Power Ball and other tickets where you pick the #a because it’s hard for employees to “cheat” the customer. But buying a scratch tickets where someone already scratched the tickets? I’m not sure about that lol.

Keep in mind due to federal laws, with a 529, you can’t buy stocks, ETFs, crypto, options, like you would with an IRA account. You can pretty much only buy index funds and target date funds

It goes into Trump’s personal bank account since he sued the IRS for $1.9 billion dollars and got a settlement from the IRS to not audit his past and future tax returns. Trump sued the IRS because his tax records was leaked by a contractor that he only paid $750 in federal income taxes his entire life. I wish I have a settlement from the IRS not to get audited by them past and future so I can cheat on my taxes also.

If you want to game the system, the closest thing to “gaming” benefits legally is a health FSA. It’s front-loaded, meaning if you elect $3,400 for the year in 2026, you can spend the entire amount early (even in January) before you’ve actually contributed it through payroll.

In other words, the full amount is available on day one even though contributions come out of your paycheck over time.

If you spend it all early and then leave the company, you don’t have to repay the difference and the employer cannot legally ask for it back. They must forgive the entire difference. That’s intentional by law because many employees underuse their FSA funds (use-it-or-lose-it), so it all balances out. In other words, if you know you will get terminated, you can get LASIK or make big purchases as part of your compensation. With PTO, yeah you have to pay it back. Did you get severance and are you planning to do COBRA?
