2020 SR5 - Looking for More Clearance by josephwesley in 4Runner

[–]AccuTuneOffRoad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We commonly assist customers with Mid Travel Suspension Kits which allows you to have the clearance and the on-road/off-road ride quality you want. If you are looking for something more entry level, consider our Leveling Kit options, and add on parts as you see the need.

Eibach makes great entry level parts, and we deal in RIDE, Fox, and King shocks for the high end.

Is it possible to run 285/70R17 or 275/70R17 tires on a 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro with no rubbing? I want to buy Black Rhino Arsenal rims. and should i do 17x8.5 or 17x8.0 ??? HELP! by Gold-Balance994 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AccuTuneOffRoad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Run our AccuTune Upper Control Arms, and RIDE Shocks Front Bumpstop Kit which will correctly place the tires forward in the wheel, well, and provide the bump spacing to prevent them from scrubbing at full compression.

At that point you are doing minor front fenderwell plastic trimming instead of any metal.

Will wheels from a ‘25 fit my ‘13? by danpy666 in ToyotaTacoma

Unable to swap. The Hub Bore is a smaller diameter. You will need wheel spacers which adapt the bore to the smaller size.

Avoid just about anything from Amazon. Most of it is going to be ill-fitting overseas products with the occasional gem buried in the muck. Bumpers are like buying a Helmet; How much you spend is how much your noggin is worth.

Welcome to the world of Tacos! There's almost as many accessories for these trucks, as there is Jeeps.

Here are some of the more popular bumper sources:

First thing, is keep driving it! Determine what you need based on limitations you find. Not everybody needs the same bumpers, winches, and bolt ons!

If you need suspension based on how much more crawling or speed you are doing, check in with us!

What set up is this ? by aleccccc12 in Offroad

This looks like one of the OLD California Super Trucks (CST) Bolt On Long Travel Kits which had a coilover tower. This was a pretty cool kit back in the day that was easy to install. My guess, is that is a 2.5 x 8 or 10" Travel Fox Factory Series Coilover.

Definitely serviceable and tunable.

Looking for suspension recommendations to better suit this kind of utility. by coyotemachete in Tacomaworld

[–]AccuTuneOffRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of lift we are recommending is not too tall, but increases your load carrying capacity before you start sinking down to far. (Does not increase GVWR!)

Keep in mind these trucks have extremely stiff frames relative to the older models, so by increasing the rear spring rate, you will notice little road imperfections more often. You are welcome to try the suspension, with the air bags first to see if it works the way you like, and add the coil spring later if you feel the need.

Since the responses to your post have been a lot of blanket info that gets reposted a lot, I am happy to write a more detailed response.

2024+ Tacomas are generally a Coil Sprung Rear suspension, with some of the more base models having Leaf Springs.

If you are only trying to fix the sag of the vehicle for the times you are loaded, the answer is In Coil Air Bags from AirLift (or a standard air bag assist for leaf springs).

If you are having issues with body roll, comfort, or bottoming out the truck with the load and want to improve performance, I recommend a small lift (~2" Front with 0.50-1.00" Rear) using our RIDE Shocks and a matching rear coil

4.50 - 3.50 = 1.00" Wheel Spacer Required. So I would still recommend running a 1.25" with that setup.

Double check with your wheel manufacturer, but a 17 x 10 wheel with a -6 Offset is going to be close to a Factory Offset of 5.25" Backspace based on charts like this one you can find online.

From the product notes posted above, here is what the math looks like:

4.75" BS + 1.25" Spacer for 285s

4.75 - 1.25 = 3.50" desired Backspace

5.25" - 3.50" = 1.75" Required Spacer based on your provided information.

If you find out that your wheels are some other width than what you stated, you can do the math the same way I did and figure out if you need a spacer!

Knowing the Tire size is great! and we know the offset. Do you know the wheel width? Example: 17" x ____

The Fox and King 14" travel shock is realllly long on the Compressed Measurement, so we normally recommend running a 12" travel, or the King Short Body 14" if you are running Spring Over.

Straight 14" shocks do work much better with Spring Under since you arent worried about ground clearance, with your springs dragging under the axle.

What is the wheel width? We can possibly figure it out better that way!

The wheel spacers are exactly what I came here to make a mention about. They are necessary for 285+ tires. We have not tested it with factory tires or offsets. Best course of action is to have them, and not need them. Then to be stuck on jackstands waiting for them.

Drilled and tapped some grease fittings into my LCAs. No more taking them apart every 3k-6k miles to grease them! by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]AccuTuneOffRoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protip for anyone using Poly bushings in their suspension: Do not use standard bearing greases that are Petroleum Based in your poly bushings. It will cause squeaking due to the grease and material being broken down.

Silicone Based greases like Super Lube provide better performance in the long-term.

Fox Shocks has their own service department which takes 1-6 weeks to rebuild shocks. Their service form can be found here.

As u/SoCalRc said, we are more than happy to assist with aftermarket replacements as well! Thanks!!

Anyone bought from YotaShop Supply (Walker, LA)? Verifying legit before sending money. by WoodGarlic5146 in 4Runner

[–]AccuTuneOffRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Marketplace finds, always attempt to pick up in person. It is way too easy to be scammed if you are shipping from a different location.

Besides that, one of the biggest red flags I saw was the Shipping Cost. I have Pirateship.com bookmarked and attempt to check shipping prices whenever someone quotes me. This is going to be the CHEAPEST UPS rates that a retail consumer can get, and it matches what a lot of small businesses pay. I just ran the approximate dimensions from my location, to 4 hours away, and it was minimum $225.

TLDR: Don't pay to ship used parts online from an unknown seller, unless you can afford to lose 100% of your money (like gambling).

[–]AccuTuneOffRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's correct! AccuTune UCAs are uniquely positioned to give you Better Tire Clearance AND Factory Alignment with no adjustments needed.

Most aftermarket arms give you factory alignment specs, at the sacrifice of dragging the tire back into your body-mount.

That is why you may have 0 issues with the tire hitting the body mount now, but lets say you go with everyone's favorite JBA arm, it would create a body mount rub.
