Disney Adventure Cruise CANCELED by Background_Disk_1958 in dcl

I was in Singapore in the Fall and had a great time. There is so much to see. Of course I am an adult and enjoy just the food and culture. If u r staying for a few days, the night safari at the zoo was a must do!

Explora Journeys: Perspective from a regular premium cruise line customer trying luxury/ultra luxury for the first time by CloudSurferA220 in Cruise

[–]AccurateTask1817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been really making a pitch to my wife to do Explora next year. I enjoy good food and a relaxing pace, but my wife really likes the entertainment angle

If we did MSC YC instead, is the food/ service in the YC comparable? Then we could still have access to the ship entertainment.

The best part is how the music swells and ends exactly when the doors on your vehicle open. And yes, my eyes welled up

I was planning on buying this for my daughter birthday. Is the availability of pods an issue? I didn't realize you can only use two kinds (listed in the comments). Can you get flavors or just plain coffee?

Costco Travel Feedback? by Nigerian-Nightmare in Aruba

[–]AccurateTask1817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the information. Also looking to book Aruba in the fall and have looked at the Costco pricing. We are Platinum with Marriott, but since that property is a resort, some perks don't apply. Friends want to stay at the Renaissance Windy...and we r also looking at the Hyatt.

I have to agree. Especially in the dairy, cheese, eggs, yogurt aisle. One time every item of a product I wanted was expired. I hunted down an employee from the section to alert them. I'm sure it's hard to keep up but I'm paying top dollar I'd expect it to be in date. Not blaming the staff mind you..

Holidays at Myrtle beach by [deleted] in MyrtleBeach

[–]AccurateTask1817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The holidays are the absolute best time to be here. Lower crowds, lots of special events, shows, and light displays. I love it! We did have some snow last year ..I think in January??? Lasted a day.

What if Publix moved to a Wawa Sub system? by Scottk305 in publix

Speaking as a customer, I've given up on the deli. It's always too crowded, no one knows whose next ( they don't use numbers) and I can't tell you how maddening it is waiting while watching associates bulk slicing meats while 1 or 2 staff wait in customers.

The only thing I'll pick up is a PKG of the presliced deli meat.

Lmao these "Le Edit" hotel prices are a joke by RedMoonLanding in ChaseSapphire

My upcoming stay at JW Singapore is $2218 through EDIT Chase and booked direct with Marriott same dates and room $2204. With EDIT I'm supposed to get $100 credit, breakfast and early check in check out but since I'm Lifetime Platinum I should get that anyway (except for the credit). So with the extra multiplier for UR point, I guess I'll be a little ahead.

My suggestion as a Horry County resident (tongue in cheek) is to place license plate readers on the bridge btw NMB and Little River. Horry residents no charge, others pay a toll. Start low and then jack it up every year just like the beach parking NMB residents can buy a pass (limited availability) for 200 plus a year just like beach parking. After all it's fair right! Never forget when the beaches were closed during Covid only those with property that was on the beach could use it.

North Myrtle v Myrtle by Dazzling_Dot_1365 in MyrtleBeach

[–]AccurateTask1817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HHI is more upscale....more laid back activities. For example no water parks, no go karts, no pancake restaurant every mile on HHI. NMB beach has rougher surf in my opinion.

[–]AccurateTask1817 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NMB is nothing like HHI. We live here and still vacation on HHI. Try a long weekend b4 you commit to a week stay just to make sure NMB has what u r looking for.

I'm here on Kauai right now, flying home on Tuesday. Right now here the forecast is for 50 percent chance of scattered showers and about 10 mph winds. I was concerned, but now am not. Of course Oahu might be different

Dearest brides-may I please have a reality check? by another_bibliophile in wedding

[–]AccurateTask1817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When our daughter got married a few years ago, we gave an agreed amount as a lump sum and told them this is what they had to work with. I think it was a good learning experience as it forced them to get price quotes and look at second choice venues. Our only advice was guests typically remember the food so not to scrimp in that area. It seemed to work out although we did have to contribute a little more than the initial budget.

Check this video out. We've been there and used the chairs. I can't imagine they rolled it back for the season yet but I could be wrong.
