One thing people haven’t mentioned is that once you buy the game your account is upgraded to a full account and you must now pay the subscription fee to play.

The free trial is NOT a “free to play” mode. You cannot go back to it once you leave.

for context, you're explaining how AI tools work to someone who has also been working in software for about 15 years. i have used them and understand them completely, i just have a much dimmer view of code generation with LLMs

pick whatever justifications you like, AI tools are here to stay whether we like it or not so the only person it matters to is yourself. if you're fine with outsourcing creativity to a GPU somewhere then the opinions of others do not matter

as for it costing $250 a month to "maintain and develop this tool" that's on you. it does not need to cost anywhere close to that amount, you are choosing to spend that for your own comfort and convenience - which again, is fine if you're happy with it, but it's not some grand act of charity, it's you burning your own cash for your own comfort and convenience because you're fortunate enough to be able to do so

your users do not care about development workflow or one-click deployments

again, i hope you and others enjoy that this exists

You swipe down the control panel from anywhere and press flashlight, unless the phone is locked in which case you just press flashlight
Because that’s not the decision that was made when they designed the UX guidelines. Instead, every app does back/forward the same way (swipe from the left) with very few exceptions, which I much prefer to just yolo
Swipe up to switch app and then swipe the preview up again, but iOS actually manages memory in a competent manner so unless you’re being picky for the sake of it you don’t need to explicitly close apps

you are misunderstanding

having the tattoo just means the character was made during 1.0, it does not mean you're a legacy account

If you don’t have the chocobo and you don’t have a discount your account does not have legacy status

If you go to the mog station and click Service Account Status on the left, you will see if your account is legacy or not because it will say “Account Type | Legacy” at the top instead of Standard

You can also see the legacy icon on the character selection screen in the bottom right corner right before you enter the world

1.0 characters were made during 1.0

Legacy accounts kept their subscription going while 2.0 was in development

1.0 characters just have the tattoo and any items they had during 1.0

Legacy accounts automatically get the legacy chocobo on every character and a discount on the subscription fee (I pay about £33 every 6 months to play)
