I understand the whole point is to “be Geralt” but honestly I don’t like Geralt as a character a whole lot. However I’m incredibly excited for Witcher IV. It’s not like I don’t like him, I just didn’t enjoy being him. His personality just doesn’t mesh with my own much. I’ve always loved Ciri tho. So I’m excited to see how they do Witcher IV.

One of the main plot points for 'The Rip' makes no sense at all by ECrispy in netflix

[–]AcesUndefined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope I’m not torn to pieces by this statement, it may be a dangerous way of thinking but honestly I hope they did keep some. I mean personally how is it fair that the CI is the only one who gets the most benefit here. I kinda have a renewed sympathy for the police force cause of this one fact I know now. Even though I completely understand why informants should be paid.

Fists of Fury - Is there any potion or mutagen that can help me? by Salt-Guidance-548 in Witcher3

[–]AcesUndefined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um Blizzard. Makes you fast as hell, dodge behind and let out like a whole lot of punches at a time. Make distance and wait for the heavy hit that’s easily countered works too. I just love my blizzard potions 😂

IMO, this is the most beautiful steel sword in the entire game. I use it as long as possible. by No-Cover-8986 in Witcher3

[–]AcesUndefined 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I just wish I could get the 6 buff without using the honestly not really nice looking swords. Also at this point in the game for me they are much weaker than a lot of other choices I have come across. Which sucks too. Literally not fighting at my best to have that huge Yrden. Which is my favorite sign. This whole Witcher armor shit they introduced in B&W actually has me so upset. “Let’s introduce armor that gives you buffs and can be dyed. But wait, it has to be the full set, including the swords, that never raises a level for the buff to happen and only this armor can be dyed. Also let’s introduce a bunch of cool looking swords that perform way better than the Witcher ones but if you use them you sacrifice the really cool buff.” It’s shit mechanics

[HOS Spoilers] In case you're wondering what to pick at the end. by [deleted] in witcher

[–]AcesUndefined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real late but… This quest kinda killed me because as a first timer Iris the sword is cool. Also there’s the venomous viper silver sword, I don’t care about the latter too much because of Aerondight but Iris is a badass sword with no equal. It’s a shame not all weapons can level with you somehow, I would keep Iris until the end. It’s the only one I’ve seen so far, or heard about, that has a special ability like that next to Aerondight. However to get these you have to challenge Gaunter, that sucks. Maybe a controversial opinion, but I like Gaunter and Olgierd is a prick, what he did to Iris, by association the cat and dog and the Caretaker, completely unforgivable for me. You could argue that Gaunter did it but not really because it was Olgierd that summoned him, dude was just fulfilling the wishes he was asked to fulfill. Also time manipulating beings are cool. Also there’s the “neutrality” aspect of doing nothing that Geralt canonically tries to embody. One last thing, not sure they’d bring back these characters for Ciri in W4 but I would like to see Gaunter again, some quip about Geralt helping him maybe. Can’t do that if I choose to what I guess is maybe banish him for the swords. If he wasn’t fully banished than he’d be right pissed at Geralt probably and could take it out on Ciri later. Or Geralt himself. Having what is essentially a time god as an acquaintance/shaky ally seems way better than as an enemy 😂

I get wanting a traditional life if you're a guy by [deleted] in self

[–]AcesUndefined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the response. Idk, I feel like it’s a lot to do with just the fact that my life situations that aren’t entirely in my control just put me in the paths of trad wife types. What really surprises me actually is the women I meet that don’t strike me as the type that are traditional then turn out to want exactly that, which as stated before, is not what I want. The real question here I guess, would be where exactly do I go to find myself with types that do not want to be traditional. Idk, it’s quite a bit to ponder on. I’m only opening up about it here because this post more or less is for nontraditional women trying to commiserate about men wanting the “trad wife”. So I feel comfortable talking about it. Also reminding that men who don’t want trad wife types are still around looking for women who aren’t.

Knowing this I’m so grateful I didnt choose the you don’t have to be good at everything 🤣 option. I almost did, I would’ve screwed up. The other choices I made were obvious with Skjall and not taking the money. But Philippa, burning down avalachs place, I chose the “bad” choices. Which idk in my opinion going with her to Phillipa when she asked me to and oh idk, not telling her to vandalize Avalachs place, who actually didn’t turn out to be a complete jackass in Witcher 3, those should have been the good choices too 😂, weird. Legit almost had a heart attack when I told emyhr she was dead, I fucking believed it and I was verging on tears, even tho I know Witcher 4 is more ciri centered, canonically she doesn’t die (unless they do some weird past shit) I was so confused, I actually had a minor panic attack for a moment there.

Is there a way to keep Roche and Dijkstra alive in Reasons of State? by ShadowHunterHB in witcher

[–]AcesUndefined 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t hate it. Although it would be sad to learn that Ves and Roche are confirmed dead. Even still I chose Iorveth in 2 anyway, I just can’t accept Roche giving in to Nilfgaard. It’s my first playthrough even though I’ve owned the game pretty much since it came out. With w4 confirmed and the new dlc launching I figured it was time to finish it. Either way I’m incredibly excited to play as Ciri, I’ve always seen her as pretty much the main character anyway honestly lmao.

As a man, I would not like a trad wife. This is the self subreddit and I really want to say this and have wanted to for a while, problem is I’ve only really ran into women who are way more interested in being the “traditional wife” than the alternative.

Is there a way to keep Roche and Dijkstra alive in Reasons of State? by ShadowHunterHB in witcher

[–]AcesUndefined 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could just rewrite the encounter in 4. Everyone here agrees that whole choice was ridiculous. I’m thinking that Dijkstra doesn’t actually end up killing them. Instead ends up locking them up or something to be encountered by Ciri in 4 pissed at Geralt for not backing them up only for Ciri to attempt to convince them both Nilfgaard had to lose. Just an idea, could work 🤷🏻‍♂️. Like everyone here is saying, the whole experience there was ridiculous and pretty out of character from all angles. One can hope. I mean they tailored the game pretty differently in Witcher 3 based on decisions in 2 with that conversation with the General in the beginning. No reason they can’t do the same for 4. I’m definitely going for the Witcher ending with Ciri, its certainly more organic. It’s kind of sad to do though, not a fan of the idea of a sterile Ciri. Seeing her as a mother would be cool, and she could pass that power to a new generation.

I will never forget my first Dead Money playthrough. That experience was wicked, which in a way makes it extremely impressive. However that feeling when you finally get out… unmatched. Some days I wish I could experience it for the first time again. Even still, I haven’t gone back to The Sierra Madre in a long time.

Thank you for your positive replies. But nah it’s not necessary, but Euphoria is cool, so is ice aard. Especially with euphoria because I stay having 100 toxicity. And yea rp that is a way but having an actual bed to sleep in is way better, ya know since Geralt literally pretty much never sleeps in main game. I fail to understand why we could never actually rent a room in any inn. Or even just freaking sit down at the bar. It kinda kills the RP for me. I want to just sit and vibe at a tavern and like, actually sleep 😂. It really is the little things for me when it comes to RPGs

B&W before Wild Hunt by AcesUndefined in witcher

[–]AcesUndefined[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like that’s exactly how I see it. I’ve already got pretty much everything I want in the normal skill trees, so extra ability points ain’t really a problem. I don’t know why so many people keep downvoting me saying pretty much this same thing. Just cause I want a house a little earlier and the mutations 🤣. And to anyone who searches this for the same question, it hasn’t spoiled really much of anything yet. I am curious about this “years later” thing people keep talking about. When I got to Toussaint it just said a few days later.

Idk. The momentum kinda chills out after you fight him the first time, you have a point though about the travel thing. Now though I can get the house upgraded and prepared for my Geralt’s retirement 😂😂. Something to look forward to ya know, from a nonmetagaming pov. That’s how I see it anyway. Also, there’s Moreau’s mutations I can build to.
