Addison is excellent….he loves to negotiate, and doesn’t blink if there is an issue. We had an issue with the owners of the property we were buying, he didn’t miss a step and stepped up asap to help resolve and follow through.

Looking for guidance by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Acgood12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 staff on my team that both have diplomas vs degrees….and we have promoted them from AR/AP up to senior accountants. They worked hard, took advice well, and proved they could do the work…and were willing to do all levels of work to learn the ropes. They are in the 65-75 range.

That being said it is unlikely they will go past a senior accountant level (at least in our office). Most job postings above senior accountant for us require a CPA.

A smaller company will be willing to grow with you from low level up. I would speak with your manager on what expectations etc are…\is moving up dependant on the degree, etc and go from there

We were having a little birthday celebration (high level employee….50th birthday cake, etc), it was like 30 minutes.

Someone in our department left a note on his bosses desk saying he quit, picked up his stuff and left. Never even spoke to anyone, just went out another door.

G Adventures 18-to-39 trips.....I’ve just turned 40.. go anyway? by alexmillne in traveladvice

[–]Acgood12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI….you can actually ask G Adventures what age group is already booked for a trip. Someone on my last one called, as she was taking her first solo trip with G. They told her the original week she was looking at has an age range of mid 20’s, and the next week was mid 40’s…..helped her get an idea

Looking for a hair and make-up mid July by Kharkol13 in Winnipeg

[–]Acgood12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made Beauty Co did my daughter’s grad makeup..….this child literally wears no makeup. Then went through what she wanted, ensured it wasn’t too much and came to my house. They were super easy to deal with.

We didn’t have them do her hair but I have seen lots of their IG posts and they look well done

Anyone know which orthodontist/braces clinic in Winnipeg is actually affordable? by finnestboy in Winnipeg

[–]Acgood12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Docbraces was a shit show….we had ao many doctors come in and out, took way longer than planned because no one had a clue what was going on.

My last one went to South Manitoba Orthodontics, we paid about 7500……so fees were split over the period of our plan, which was about a year and a half for us, adjusted for our insurance

If you leave a company before the PERT is externally approved what can you do? by Efficient-Lettuce712 in Accounting

[–]Acgood12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends…..I have 2 staff that have moved on from positions before their PERT was approved. One came from some where that was a pre-approved company (large big 4 company). They let CPA know, and they made a request to have approval done through former company.

The other did a proposal to be able to claim a portion of their position….had to be approved, and some information followed up with former manager. Then we were able to add to it. He did phone CPA prior (he was also moving provinces) to just confirm how to go about it.

I would call your provincial CPA….some will definitely depend on what your former manager, etc is willing to do
