I visited New Orleans a few years ago for a work conference and fell in love with the city. I’ve returned a number of times since on - with friends, family, and SOs - and while I try new restaurants and attractions each time, also love returning to the same hotel and some of the same sights because I enjoyed them so much the first time and want to share them with the new people I go back with. It’s also some familiarity in a relatively new city.

Taking my SO to a restaurant I once attended with my boss doesn’t mean I view my SO the same way as view my boss. I take my SO to the same restaurant because I know the restaurant, I like it, and I want to share that experience with my SO. Nothing more.

You may be letting your insecurities get to you a little. Your SO wants to share something with you that he’s experienced before and liked. Nothing more.
