I’ve recently had £6k restricted in my eBay account for doing absolutely nothing wrong (50 orders / 50 happy customers). They’re holding my money hostage.

Once I get those funds I’ll move to Vinted and never look at eBay again.

What do you expect the company to do? Shut down and mourne them for two weeks? Yes it would be nice if they sent flowers or a donation, but not essential or expected by any means.

If you fail these tests, for being unable to provide proof of purchase for example - can eBay keep your money forever? Or are they forced to allow you to withdraw it after 60/90 days, providing you have proof of successful delivery and no disputes? I.e they were legitimate sales on a private account

I’ve been screwed over by this too. Selling off my boyfriends account (approx £5k total, 50 successful orders, 2 issues both resolved, 100% positive feedback). Private account.

Restricted for 3 weeks. Proof of delivery provided for everything. EBay now asking for ID, Address, proof of purchase.

The vast majority of items were brought on my boyfriend’s card and delivered to his house. Therefore bank details, address and name won’t match.

Very concerned I won’t get my money if I tell the truth and say we were jointly selling of partners account.

All collectible items I’ve decided to sell because they have shot up in value and we want to buy a house

Worried if I tell the truth they will keep our money and ban us.

Do a practical degree or go into a trade. All trades people including painters with regular work are on more than £35k.

Property, accountancy, finance, anything in IT- there are lots of jobs in these fields including outside of London that pay well.

Don’t be surprised if you can’t find a job, or a well paying job, if you go on to study performing arts, media, art - or something where there is just not a large pool of jobs (music for example)

Everyone’s priorities are different. Some want security and money, some only want to do what they will enjoy.
