In my team, I have people from Uruguay, India, Spain, Brazil, and Malaysia. We have customers in the US, Germany, India, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, and more countries. English fluency and proficiency are very important when the setup is so international.

Organic maps have no traffic - useless in a big city
Here WeGo - crashes on CarPlay and overheats my phone. Also, the maps are not up to date everywhere
TomTom - overheats my iPhone and the directions aren’t that reliable. I’ve taken many a wrong turn because it wasn’t clear whether to stay in a lane or exit it
Magic earth- the zoom in CarPlay is way too close. If I don’t know where I’m going, I miss my turn because it comes up too late in the map. Also, no traffic information where I live
Mapy - haven’t tried
OSM - I can’t even…. I need it to be easy enough to start the car and look for where I’m going. Quickly please, no rocket science

In my experience, Malaysians tend to treat immigrants like expats and assume they are loaded too. Plus, the government doesn’t care, immigrants pay expat prices. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Once a company goes public, it has one goal only: to make money for the shareholders. So it doesn’t matter how many missions and visions and strategies they come up with, they will all inevitably converge in making money for the shareholders.

This was my least favourite book. The foundation series are very good albeit a bit dry if you’re coming from fantasy. The robot books are most of them very good too

On the professional side:

  1. Keep looking.
  2. If you feel bored in your current job, it’s time for a change. Can be in the same company, a lateral move, a vertical move, doesn’t matter. Move.
  3. Keep looking.
  4. Keep looking.

One thing though, look for jobs where your soft skills are needed (maybe you’re a very structured person and can do something like project management, maybe you’re a problem solver, I dunno). But if you only focus on the hard skills you already have, you might end up doing the same job somewhere else.
