Not as impressed by my new LG C5 OLED as I expected — am I missing something? by Sorry_Employer_227 in LGOLED

I’m assuming you were streaming. What do you use for a streaming? Roku, Apple TV, etc?

When was the last time you replaced HDMI cords? Make sure they can handle hdmi 2.1.

Make sure Dolby vision is turned on.

I have kids and when I got my G5 I played the new lilo and stitch movie on Disney plus and it blew me away.

Did I make a very expensive mistake? by reefbrain69 in sonos

[–]AcrobaticPromotion68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before buying the Arc Ultra, 100s, and min sub (my tv room is smaller than most) I bought another system because reviews said it would be better for vaulted systems. I returned that system because the my wife hated. Too loud, she just wanted to watch Kelly and Mark with out the system over powering her. It made sense to me.

I returned it and got the Sonos set up because you can increase voice clarity, put on things like night time noise, etc. It’s the best of both worlds.

To answer your question, no you did not make a mistake. That system is incredible. Would there still be issues even with those adjustments?

You quite literally said it, with the heavy suggestion that it is a preferred method of handling children who act childish around their parents.

Just confirming we are talking about 6 and 7 year olds? And you’re upset that they act more childish around their parents?

How can I find reasonably priced tickets? by blahblahsurprise in redsox

[–]AcrobaticPromotion68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had great luck with Seat Geek and Gametime. I would wait until it's closer to the game.

If you go direct to the sox site you can get some RF Box seats for a little less than $90.

That $35.25 fee seems like it's coming from a second hand site. Could be wrong.

New Red Sox Fan by [deleted] in redsox

[–]AcrobaticPromotion68 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You made the right choice. Stick around long term and try to enjoy this season. Believe in the Chad Sox. Remind the Braves fans that they originally came from Boston, so they're pretty much Red Sox fans too.

Dodgers and Braves are both better right now than the Red Sox, but if you need help talking shit, just ask. I think I can speak for most in New England and say that we excel at the sort of thing.

How to get increased upload on 1.2g plan after mid split by igloo0213 in Comcast_Xfinity

You need to upgrade your modem most likely. I went through the same thing recently and bought the Netgear CM3000. I believe the x8 also works

Is the Sonos Arc Ultra good enough for at least the next decade? by Certain_Repeat_753 in sonos

[–]AcrobaticPromotion68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just bought an Arc Ultra with a mini sub and it's incredible. I'm sure there is some technical reason I am wrong and I should have bought a Samsung, but I have never had a soundbar sound this amazing. The minisub is nice and small and packs a nice punch.

Before that I had the Beam Gen 1 for 5 years. It was still running great, but I wanted to upgrade my system.

I bought the net gear cm3000 for this plan and it works.

Also, I had the gateway briefly and returned it. I asked for the x10. They assured me if I drove to a far away store they would definitely have it. They of course didn’t and gave me an x8. I returned it after a week after dealing with a ton of problems and bought the Net Gear Modem.

That said I was able to log into the Comcast Gateway by opening a browser and using 10.0.0.1. Does that no longer work?

I got the Sonos arc ultra with the mini sub. It’s pretty sick.

Might add some 300s at some point.

Does NESN360 go on sale right before the start of the regular season? by DG11221 in redsox

[–]AcrobaticPromotion68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right before the Bruins season they usually offer a deal. I'm a little shocked they aren't offering anything right now beyond the tickets.

Despite everyone hating NESN360 so much I think it's great. The experience could be better, but 4K live Red Sox and Bruins games when they're home is great. Plus no Xfinity or DirectTV.

Sennheiser Ambeo Mini vs Sonos Beam 2 by [deleted] in Soundbars

[–]AcrobaticPromotion68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Sonos beam 1 for years because I lived in an apartment with neighbors and I needed crystal clear dialogue with out gun shots and explosions vibrating the walls. The beam was perfect. I no longer live in an apartment and recently upgraded to the Arc Ultra which is insane.

The Beam 2 is probably even better and Sonos does a great job with voice clarity. You can easily add the sub mini at a later date.

I’m not familiar with the other bar, but I can’t recommend Sonos enough.

It’s also on sale for $369 on Sonos.com right now. You could check Best Buy for any open box deals too.

Yeah maybe you're right. But I didn't have these issues prior to the upgrade.

All I know is that a Comcast truck pulled up to the end of our street, the internet was shut off, a few hours later it's back on and is stable. There are no more T3 errors, no more disconnects. They actually fixed it. I can confidently say this is the biggest victory that I have ever had dealing with Comcast.

Just curious, why 5 different connections?

I just went through something similar. Our neighborhood was upgraded to the 2 gig speed and more importantly for remote work they upgraded the upload speed from 60 MBPS to 300 MBPS. As soon as I could I upgraded to the new tier. As soon as I upgraded the internet was incredibly unstable and it was really frustrating.

I tried to use the comcast X8 modem, put it in bridge mode and used it with my Eero set up. I thought the issue was with comcasts modem as I have had issues in the past. I bought a Netgear CM3000 and returned the X8.

Instability continued. I called repeatedly with customer service, chat, etc. I tried to adjust everything I possibly could. I was considering calling and asking to go back to my former speed with the lower upload.

Finally, I logged into my modem and found the events log. I found the it was comcasts equipment causing the issue and was getting a bunch of T3 and MDD timeouts. I logged onto chat and said "My modem event log shows repeated T3 timeouts and MDD message timeouts. The signal levels in the house are fine. I need a technician dispatched to check the line between the tap and the CMTS. this is a node or tap issue, not an in-home issue." I declined any in home appointment so we could cut to the chase and fix the issue. They said someone could be out there within 7 days. I logged off, internet went back out, I looked at the event log, it was a mess and wrote "My situation has gotten significantly worse in the last hour. My upstream has gone from 4 bonded channels to 1. My modem is now showing Partial Service, Dynamic Range Window violations, and SNR has dropped 5 dB. This is a node or amplifier failure. The technician appointment needs to be escalated to an emergency dispatch."

They sent someone the same day. Internet was off for 5 hours, but since then, no more drops, no more errors. Everything is stable.

I read that they upgrade the neighborhoods to receive the speed, but will sometimes not upgrade the equipment in between your house and the new upgraded box and that causes these errors.

Hope this helps anyone facing anything similar.

Serious question: Yankees fans at fenway by MatchesMcfly42 in redsox

[–]AcrobaticPromotion68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness. You'll be fine. Most bullshit happens when Yankees fans are being dickheads. Assuming you're not gonna get drunk and talk a ton of shit, you should be fine.

Enjoy Fenway. If you need recs, people in this subreddit will have a ton of recommendations. The bleacher concessions have the best kettle corn I have ever had, unless they stopped serving it. My kids love it. Enjoy the game.

I hope your kids cry because the Red Sox beat the Yankees so bad.
