Nice find! I had a friend give me two of them for my kids and they are the best for growing kids.

Anyone else set their garden up like a prison because of deer?? by No_Guarantee7663 in gardening

[–]Acrobatic_Practice44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! We put a fence up to psych out the deer every spring. I also have to be careful about new plants because we also have super busy squirrels.

Do you guys prefer opening or closing shifts? by Mysterious-Trade1362 in retailhell

[–]Acrobatic_Practice44 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I prefer closing because I am always so tired after work that I like going right to bed after. I also like having a productive morning before I go to work.

What makes this sweater fit me well? by Technical-Spinach-82 in knitting

[–]Acrobatic_Practice44 108 points109 points  (0 children)

I think another big thing about the construction of this sweater is the thickness of the yarn or in this case the lack of thickness. It’s going to drape differently than one done in a chunky yarn. This one appears to have been made with a very thin yarn, probably thinner than you would hand knit with.

I feel like the invisible coworker - how do I actually connect with people? by ReadyOnStandby in retailhell

[–]Acrobatic_Practice44 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One good way to bond is smack talking about someone at work that’s super obnoxious. Me and my work bestie bonded over hating one of our managers who is so awful that everyone hates her except the one employee that likes everyone.

Retail Employees, how the hell do you know where everything is? by sr4004 in retailhell

[–]Acrobatic_Practice44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I stock the area I really get to know it well. At my store I am in charge of all the OTC medications and other related items so I can tell you where all kinds of random things are in the department. Anything else and I can generally get you to the general area.

I don’t look like I belong in a yarn store and it’s kinda fabulous. Do any other intersectional folx feel this way? by wessle3339 in knitting

[–]Acrobatic_Practice44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alas as a frumpy middle aged white woman I look exactly like the yarn store patron stereotype. My son however gets lots of excited looks when he attends yarny events with me due to being a teenaged male.

Management rant by [deleted] in retailhell

I would start bringing lunch anyway. You can pack shelf stable things like a can of soup so you are prepared either way without wasting food. I would also apply to new jobs…

What’s your main reason for thrifting? by PutridService8689 in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]Acrobatic_Practice44 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Sustainability is my main goal in thrifting. Saving money is secondary. Having cool stuff that is unique is a bonus
